ST. PAUL, Minn. — Republican Norm Coleman must pay Democrat Al Franken $94,783 to cover court costs for his appeal of Minnesota Senate election results.

A Ramsey County court administrator entered the judgment Wednesday. It results from the two-month trial that ended with Coleman 312 votes short of Franken.

Minnesota law required Coleman to cover some of Franken's court costs because the race's outcome didn't change. The judgment excludes Franken's attorney fees.

The men have spent $50 million so far on their campaigns and legal fight over the November election. That's more than double the cost of the 2002 race when Coleman captured what had been a Democratic seat.

The Minnesota Supreme Court hasn't said when it will rule on Coleman's appeal.

Dear Norm, thank you for your contribution to the Democratic Senatorial Committee. It's Democrats like you who help keep our party strong. Enclosed please find a certificate, signed by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, attesting to your strong support of all the things our party stands for.

LOL!
These talking anuses will spew all kinds of gas and feces defending Coleman’s case. But when it comes to paying the costs associated with this legal effort, they will probably say; ‘Norm Coleman? Norm Coleman who?

Reminds me of those economics experiments where Harvard undergrads will bid up the price of a $20 bill to $210 to avoid losing. The auction is rigged where both the winner and the second place finisher have to pay so the second-place guy always bids up to avoid losing everything, end result, someone pays $200 for a $20.

Just how stupid do you have to be to get into this auction? I thought you only got into Harvard if you were smart!

What a cool incentive structure! Sort of like congressional earmarks, where every player has to bring home more federal money to their district than the district pays in taxes. Everybody knows it's unsustainable, but as long as you can finish your term and retire before the bills come due, you and your party keep winning elections and stay in control. Later on, when everything comes crashing down, you can blame your successor for ruining the "prosperity" that you created.

It should be called the Reagan Game.

Yes, I am sure Republicans would like to revote every election until their candidate won, but that's not how Democracy works. Sorry, you were not able to rig this one with you hacked electronic machines, and partisan court appointees. Despite your best efforts, the candidate who received the most votes will actually win this election.

Cheers for Al. Hope you will have an easier time collecting that money than the Brown family
has had collecting from O.J. Al, you should have double that amount for the debacle that
was created in trying to stall your appointment.

Norm Coleman is not paying for any of this. There are plenty of deep pockets in the Republican Party footing the bill for this delay of justice and representation just to keep that magic number 60 vote away from the U.S. Senate!
