So what he's saying is same old white-guy hateful rhetoric, just a younger white-guy saying it...I see...no new ideas...no 21st Century thinking..­.just the same old thing with a pretty new bow.

Governor Sanford is neither pretty enough nor bright enough to sell that bridge to nowhere.

The GOP is now the NOP. They are the party of Atwater, Norquist and Rove. The party of racism, hate speak and division.

What you have now is a party filled with narrow minded, hateful people who march in lock step with Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck. Citizens of "Newt" ville who hate the idea of a world beyond their own, too often, "Christian" community.

I put "Christian" in quotes because as a Christian myself, I do not own people who claim the descriptor and rant about being Pro-Life while supporting the murder of doctors and nurses who perform abortions. I do not own people who claim to be Christians and support hate speech against immigrants, Gays and Lesbians, Jews, Negroes...­anyone not like them.

And while their own beloved Regan claimed himself to be a citizen of the world, so many of these hateful people choose to forget that fact in favor of demonizing our wonderful, intelligent, thoughful young President for reaching out and embracing a world wide community.

Will someone please inform Gov. Sanford that the taxpayers of the other 49 states do not pay taxes in order to pay off the debts of South Carolina? Those people should pay off their own debts.

Well, until they stop trying to shut down moderate voices like Charlie Crist and Colin Powell, I don't think it really matters WHO is speaking for the GOP, as the message remains the same. However, that said, I find it surprising that Sanford, of all people, is the one coming out and saying this.

it will take a lot more than technology and outreach to find their way home. what i find most impressive about Sanford's comments is that, rather than flat out saying that Rush and Dick are WRONG, he says that new voices should be given their time. okay. good luck with that.
