I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Brooklyn

Fifty People, One Question is a straightforward, but remarkably vivid series of video interviews created by Benjamin Reece and co-produced by Deltree and Crush & Lovely, a creative studio based in New York and San Francisco. The crew simply goes to a place -- by the side of the road in Brooklyn or under an arched underpass in London -- asks fifty people the same question, and films their responses.

The project started in New Orleans and was so well received that Reece and Crush & Lovely began traveling to more cities and asking more questions. The vignettes are set to music and edited in a way that creates a soft, layered effect. Watch the video and glimpse a slice of life -- and humanity.

Where would you wish to wake up tomorrow?

It doesn't matter where, but with whom, and how you would feel because of it. I'd like to wake up here, at my home, with my girlfriend who I haven't gotten to hold in six months.

Where?... Some yesterday, a lazy Sunday morning, my wife and our 3 children, all in bed together sharing stories. Safe, still together....Nirvana. Thank-you for this.

That was a memory to treasure. I remember Sunday mornings when my early-rising husband would put on the coffee, go pick up bagels and the kids would come into our room to share and laugh and cuddle. I hadn't thought of those times in a long tine, so thank you for reviving a precious memory.

Where would I like to wake up tomorrow? After the health issues I had last year, I'm grateful simply waking up. Seriously.

Where would I like to wake up tomorrow morning? I ran the gamut of possibilities in my head, (a chalet in the mountains, a condo on the beach on a tropical island or coast of somewhere exotic) but came up with the same answer that most people seem to say, that is I would want to wake up in my own bed.
But even though I’d be in my own bed, maybe the world might change instead. Maybe I’d be able to wake up in a world where nobody has to go hungry or homeless, or be afraid of a bomb going off in their neighborhood or the other horrors of war. Maybe it could be a world where there’s more than enough of everything for every body: wholesome organic food, decent healthCARE (not “insurance”), shelter, jobs and other opportunities to participate and create and uplift each other. But then I thought “Wait! We already live in a world where all of these things are possible, it’s just that some people don’t want it for everyone, and they don’t want us to believe in that possibility, because if we really believed in that possibility, we’d do anything, whatever it took to MAKE IT HAPPEN

Its nice to be reminded of the humanity in each those otherwise faceless pedestirans you pass everyday on the street.
