The Poison frontman also posted a scathing press release on his website, attacking the Tony's for not caring about his injuries-- because he's not Liza Minnelli!!

This is what happens when musicians/reality stars mix with consumate theatre professionals. Theatre actors take the lumps as professionals. Mishaps happen all the time in the theatre. Michaels was simply out of his league. But they should have coddled him a bit. But I know better.

OK, seriously, I didn't know that was Bret Michaels for real because I couldn't see his face. Thought it was a look-a-like. It was funny at the time, but now it's just hilarious. I'm sorry. Liza Minelli is a seasoned performer who knows that timing and marks are in place for a reason. While it's unfortunate that this happened, it did happen to him because he didn't follow the rules. Thank God it wasn't worse, but meanwhile this should teach him to be a professional.

Okay, maybe he made some good music in his time. Granted he shouldn't have been injured on the show. But he comes across as a sadly pathetic person desperately seeking attention all the time. I don't blame Michaels a bit.
There were marks on the stage and Michaels was supposed to be in a different place on stage at the end of the song - he wasn't. They rehearsed it during sound check, but he spaced out live and you saw what happened. The rest of the band knew to get behind that line, but Bret didn't. How can you not blame him when he already knows that sign is dropping at the end of the song??
