Gordon Ramsay Apologizes To Tracy Grimshaw For Sexist Comments (VIDEO)

Foul-mouthed TV chef Gordon Ramsay apologized to Australian reporter Tracy Grimshaw on Thursday. Ramsay showed a photo during an appearance on Saturday that he claimed was Grimshaw dressed as a pig on all fours. He also used a crude term to suggest Grimshaw was a lesbian.

Ramsay's attack was assailed by Grimshaw and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd who said the cook's comments represented "a new form of low life."

According to Ramsay, it was his mother who suggested he apologize. But the Today Show is now reporting that his mother never called him. So apparently now Ramsay has another apology to make.

You are confusing school yard name calling to slander & harassment.

Calling someone generic names aren't the issue. (A$$, dork, sh!thead..generic names.) But using sexually explicit names to attack a specific gender are the issue. Especially from a guy who has such little respect for any women - relatives, co-workers or strangers.

Ramsey is a loon. He got caught being below base and now he cannot even man up and do a proper apology.

He is a child. He clearly has some form of mental illness. Who would lie on their own mother?

Thank goodness he is going bankrupt. The sooner he is out of the public sphere the better.

Still love my Gordon Ramsay!

He's someone who obviously really cares about his profession, does a lot to try to mentor new chefs, new talent. He's got a foul mouth and no small bit of a temper - but what most people seem to hate is how he tells it exactly like it is - if your food is crap, he'll say so, bluntly and clearly so the chef and owner cannot stay in denial. He yells at trainees to try to get them to push through and show what passion they have for the job - but he also takes them aside for support and help.

What happened here - could be anything - but he's direct, the British are much more open about joking about sex and sexuality (on Gordon's F Word show, he was joking with another guy about his own low sperm count, gay men and straight women are likely to jokingly hit on Gordon, snuggle up to him in the kitchen, the kind of thing that would be a sexual harassment lawsuit here in America), there's a whole different culture there.

Might as well apologize - always appropriate if you didn't intend to give offense.

Ramsay does have a good rep, and an abnormally LONG retention rate for his staff, compared to most restaurants - that says more than anything about how he really is.

Yes, Ramsay is a very unpleasant person and I wouldn't go to one of his restaurants if it was free.
I worked with chefs like him and they were actually hauled away by the cops for assaulting staff. Now that was a nice day and the atmosphere was pretty good after they were gone.

Can't watch the clip but as a feminist and fan of Ramsay's shows, it sounds as though I'd be extremely disappointed in him.

Sorry to all of you who think he's dull, egotistical, and has lousy shows, but I quite enjoy all of his shows.
