Mitt Romney Announces Essay Contest, Which Will Be A "Game Changer" (VIDEO)

What's this thing, on the YouTubes? From Wonkette comes Mitt Romney, who, while he "doesn't need to tell us that our nation faces a new generation of challenges," is SO TOTALLY going to tell us that anyway! His solution? Straight from the ovens at the GOP headquarters at Pie-Tanza: ESSAY CONTEST. What a frabjous idea that is, spun right from his robot mind!

Here's the dilly. Radical jihadists want to destroy you. All of you! Especially you. And up until now, what have YOU been able to do about it? Well now, you can finally get all pro-active up in this piece by straight up writin' some essays full of bromides!

ROMNEY: Here's what I'm asking you to do. Try answering this question: What does a free and strong America mean to me? And do it in two hundred and fifty words or less.

The person with the best answer will apparently win an "all expenses paid trip for two to Boston," to sit in his fancy-pants elite seats for a Boston Red Sox game, and then maybe you'll get to do yard work on one of Mitt's "sanctuary mansions" or something. No promises! Oh, and there's a fifty dollar entry fee, which will help Mitt Romney run for President.

Anyway, if you want to win this thing for sure, just make sure your 250-word essay contains the words, "Tax cuts!" written 125 times, and that the essay is titled Microtrends.

Every time I see R@mney, I can't help but think of him as the stand-in "every president" you might see in an action movie. Y'know... a movie about terrorists or some impending doom where you have a bad@ss protagonist kickin' butt, guns ablazin'. Then while she's in a regrouping/rearming mode in a dirty hotel room, sees the president on TV giving a speech about the crisis. Bad@ss responds: "What a pri@k!", then gets back to shootin'.

The movie is never about him, he just a stand-in. In look, rhetoric, and platitudes, Romney *is* that plastic "every-president".

He just sold the "chalet" below not long ago. I think the asking price was somewhere around 5 million. If he wants $50 from poor Americans to finance his campaign, what is he doing with his millions? And by the way, he owns three of four more houses.

I'd have more respect for him if he paid people $50 to submit an entry. He's got enough money. This politics business is getting mighty disgusting, and he is just another Republican greed monger. A strong America to me means a man with oodles of money pays his own way and struggling Americans don't have to pay his election bills. We've now have to pay for bailing out the banks, car companies, Wall Street, and everyone else the Republicans let go down the toilet for the sake of an illegal war.

I watched the coverage of the McCain-Palin rallies, and heard the interviews of the people at the Tea Parties. I read the signs of the conservatives demonstrating at the polls. Mitt, few of the 44% of the nation that voted for McCain, and even fewer of the 21% of this nation who will currently admit to being Republican can actually read an essay, let alone write one. Good idea.

The purpose of this idiocy is:
#1 Get as many addresses, phone #'s, email addresses as possible for fundraising, mailings, etc.
#2 Get as many idiotic ideas for right wing nut jobs as possible, because the current ones have run out of idiotic ideas and need new ones.
#3 Give a forum to all the whacked out racist, bigoted right wingers as possible so they can feel valid

If anyone responds to this, I'll know that our education system has failed us, our parents have failed us, our COMMON SENSE has failed us, just as the rethuglican party has failed us over and over and over again.
