Oakland Police Investigate Beauty Salon Beatdown (VIDEO)

A vicious assault on an Oakland hair stylist was caught on camera and is now being investigated by the Oakland police department, reports KTVU.

The video shows women kicking and beating Melissa Seals, who was convinced by family members to go to the police a month after the incident.

Seals was busy with a customer when six women entered the salon and two of them commenced to attack her, reports the San Francisco Examiner. One of the six women reportedly videotaped the beating and posted it on YouTube.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Seals' mother wants the assailants to go to jail.

The victim, 35-year-old Melissa Seals, was "held her against her will, imprisoned in her own shop," said her mother, Delois Seals today.

"They stole all of her merchandise, and they raised the blinds so everybody walking by could see what they were doing."

this whole incident was disturbing to watch especially if it was about some dude. that being said, there is no reason to mercilessly beat and kick another human being like that. The list of charges for the women who perpetrated this on this woman who wouldn't even fight back needs to be a mile long.

The whole thing was staged. If not, how is it that the "victim's" face wasn't all bashed-in during the interview? The video showed the perps kicking her face. This reminds me of the Springer Show---all fake.

The interesting thing to note here is that this same video was used by Fox News to tamper the story on the Holocaust Memorial Museum shooting by a (suspected) white supremacist. I noticed it on the O'Reilly Factor and they were very critical about the behavior of the population. They also tried to imply that the Museum shooting was not related to any terror organization and that it was just one whack job on his own.

Young women today of all races demean themselves in ways that boggle my mind. OVER A MAN?? How humiliating is that? And they don't even realize this. Yet, women continue to carry on as if men are the only culprits in acts against them. Women now have all of this freedom, independence and this is what they do with it. Beat each other down over men and other female petty jealousies. And no, in my generation, there was very little of this. What's even sadder is that probably most, if not all of these women are raising children. Dig that! The irony is that men gather with each other and will talk about these women like dogs and move on to the next generation of innocent females and leave these loud, vulgar, uncouth, stupid women alone. And they'll all wind up in church, bitter and alone. I'm black, and lived all my life in the black community. I'm a woman and it's just really sad to see so many young women like this. No, not all of us behave this way. But when we don't call each other out on this kind of mess, we're only "aiding and abetting" in the downfall of our own community.

Today's kids have no respect for themselves, their parents, their teachers, the possibilities of their future. Its beyond sad. of course that is right. alleatory genes have nothing to do with behavior. social milieu's and child-rearing techniques, socio-linguistic practices, ideologemes, institutional and filial memory make the difference between raising a yuppie or a scrapper. this girl is a scrapper. she's an adult, her ego is fixed. she will be like this for the rest of her life. at some points she was an infant/toddler and had no pre-set conceptions regarding conflict resolution or honor/valor. all that was given to her by parental figures and peers. i guess the totalitarian in me wants to standardize parental practices. even if that means having at-risk children becomming property of the state and forced to live in communes like they did under Mao.
