Newsweek:

The crowd of young Iranians roared their approval as a group of burly men led the speaker to the stage. When the cordon of men opened up, it wasn't one of the candidates in this week's presidential elections that stepped up to the podium. It was Zahra Rahnavard, the wife of candidate Mir Hussein Moussavi.

- Yay energized women voters!
- yay ANY energized voter!
- how cool would it be for Iran to have a more moderate leader elected cleanly. It would be one more step forward the world needs in order to deal with the massive problems we face globally.

My Prediction

Neither wins by over 50%. Runoff Moussavi VS the Crazy one

Next week during the runnoff campaign tempers will flare.

I've always found the claims of US conservatives to be shockingly divorced from reality. Iran is far more of a free country than either the country they built by hand (Iraq), or the brutal dictatorship they've been propping up (Saudi Arabia).

And yet, conservatives are STILL driving their agenda of a Saudi-dominated Middle East. But like Al Capone said, a good politician is one who stays bought. And the Bush Crime Family truly does stay bought.

Let's hope that the evil psychopath will be defeated in Iran so that the world can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Go Moussavi. We know that behind every amazing president is an amazing spouse. Mir Moussavi sounds like a great asset for Iran. I'll be rooting for their family.

Ahmadinejad should have sought the advice of Rush Limbaugh. He could have told him that once you give women the vote, its all downhill for male supremacy and hierarchy.

The women of Iran are saving their nation. You go girls!!

The world deserves change if it means we can all get along and live without fighting and killing one another. Viva la change!

If Moussavi is smart, he would be working behind the scenes to unite the reform candidates who don't have a chance of winning under his green party coalition. Maybe he has to promise them a couple of positions in the gvnmt. Right now it looks like it might go down to the wire. And I hope that all those young people and women are registered to vote.

Women in general certainly seem to vote wiser.
