Carrie Prejean: My Miss California Firing Was "A Set Up" (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES - Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean says she lost her crown because of a comment she made about gay marriage and not because she had been skipping appearances.

Prejean told Matt Lauer on NBC'S "Today" show Friday that she "absolutely" had been dethroned because of the comment, when she said marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Prejean lost her title Wednesday after the California pageant's executive director said Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

Prejean denied that and calls her firing a set up. She says "tolerance needs to be a two-way street."

Prejean was replaced by the Miss California pageant's first runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.

Carrie Prejean is the ultimate beautiful clean wholesome immage of the all American female, to be
emulated by all youg women in America. This tall, blonde and sweet angel though has been the
focus of relentless persecution by the PC lynch mob, with the sleezy spineless California pageant
"officials" at the head of the pack. She stood firm on her high moral and ethical principles in the face
of these crual assaults, head held high and unbowed, with her dignity and honor intact. She was
fired on trump up charges but really for resisting promoting homosexuality. Donald Trump and
Keith Lewis, both morons, are to blame for this injustice. She has fulfilled all her obligations as Miss
California but forced out anyway to accomodate the PC mob. We are all proud of Carrie and consider
her a Jewel and lucky for America. We wish her the best of luck and a great future. May God bless

If someone who was working for me wrote or spoke to me the way Carrie Prejean responded to Keith Lewis in her email exchanges with him, I would fire them too. Read the transcripts of their email exchanges http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,525726,00.html and tell me these are emails written by a professional. Her professional behavior is atrocious, and she deserved to be fired. Her being fired had nothing to do with her answer to the gay marriage question, it had to do with the fact that she was not comporting herself as a professional, and with the dignity and grace, both in and out of the spotlight that should be expected of Miss California.

She's suppose to avoid political attachments as Miss California. She's riding this for all it's got. Her stance against Gay marriage will be a footnote in the on going fight for Equal Rights for Gay people. She will be a foot note. One that didn't get her way either with the pageant or with this Civil Rights issue. She will have lost on both counts.

She had a freudian slip on Larry King the other night: she said "sue" instead of some other verb. I watched about 5 minutes, then changed the channel. I can't imagine how she can turn her comment into an act of martyrdom. With a straight face anyway. She's less and less attractive the more she talks.
