Jill Biden: Michelle And I Talk Shopping, Shoes

As Politico writes today, Dr. Jill Biden has entered the homes and hearts of many Americans since January. As the wife of Vice President Joe Biden, Jill attempts to avoid the press, but focuses on the causes important to her, like education, breast cancer and military families. She also spoke at a recent gay and lesbian organization's awards ceremony and kicked off last month's national spelling bee championships.

She doesn't have nearly as high a profile as Michelle Obama, but Jill Biden is also a bit of a celebrity. She draws autograph-hungry crowds and turned a $450, red patent leather handbag by a little-known designer into a must-have simply by being photographed carrying it.

The first lady and Dr. Biden also share shopping tips over lunch.

Biden told People, "We talk about girl things like, 'Where did you get those shoes?' as well as issues."

Jill Biden is being very gracious. I shudder to think what garb Michelle is going to appear in next though I think she is a lovely person and a great first lady and love everything about her except those god awful clothes and if she is happy in her clothes, I try to look past them but it's hard when she could look so elegant with very little effort.

Dr. Jill, PLEASE be a good friend and hide Michelle's wide belts where no one can find them!... Then get her to get rid of the "stylist" that's giving her such bad advice and tell her to go back to her pre-FLOTUS style -- which was MUCH better (except for the goofy flowery-necked things she wore at the convention.)

BTW, looking forward to seeing Joe tomorrow on MTP...I'm "batching" it this weekend, and there isn't an other man I'd rather wake up to on a Sunday morning than "our" Joe!...(OK, maybe Johnny Depp!)

Michelle Obama invited Nancy Reagan to lunch at the White House ............. Michelle wore a $10 top while Nancy was all decked out in her EXPENSIVE DESIGNER DUDS................

WHAT A PRICE CONTRAST ........... But you wouldn't talk about that now, would you? ......... Can't have anything good to say about FLOTUS, now can you?

But since Nancy is a republican, I guess in your world she is ENTITLED wear expensive DESIGNER clothing EVERYDAY from sun up to sun down, including the PJs she sleeps in, while the democratic FLOTUS and VFLOTUS (Both who have their own money they worked extremely hard to earn) should be relegated to "sack cloths", just to make you happy.

Fact:

A $100,000 stipend is provided to an income First Family to prepare the White House living quarters for their families. The Obamas declined to accept this standard allowance, instead dipping into their own pockets.

Style does not have to be expensive. You just choose more carefully. Michelle could look fabulous on what she spends which is a lot currently.

Nancy Reagen was and probably still does, get her clothes free from designers and I suspect that Michelle gets good deals.

Sorry, Southern Stupidity, but speaking as one who is having trouble making ends meet, I couldn't care less if they exchange shopping tips or talk about shoes. Neither do most people, I am sure. What they buy, and what they discuss is irrelevant to my situation, and to that of those who are in as bad or worse shape.
