Adam Lambert On 20/20: Coming Out, Fame, And Making Out With Girls (VIDEO)

Adam Lambert sat down with 20/20's Chris Connolly Friday night for to talk about his Rolling Stone cover, how he came out to his parents, and wanting to be in love.

Lambert, busy getting ready for the 'Idol' summer tour, was joined for part of the interview by his mother, who talked about supporting her son when he came out and how he used to love playing dress up.

Lambert, who said he's only been in love once, also gave hope to his legions of female fans.

"I've been known to make out with girls from time to time. Couple drinks involved, you know, it's fun. And who knows, maybe it'll go further someday."

I can tell what's going to happen: He's going to get support for now. He'll record an album, go on tour. Once the label sees he doesn't actually sell enough to recover all the cost they put out for him, they'll drop him or put him on hold. FACT: OPENLY GAY PEOPLE DON'T DO WELL IN AMERICA. He'll probably do better in England where they will embrace him more. Then the paparazzi will eat him alive. Here in American it doesn't matter how many fans stand out his hotel room cheering him, his acceptance will shown by those who purchase this screeching-siren- 'breathy'- inhaler of ballads while donning makeup and striking a woman-like pose. Sure he'll have a small following at first but then he'll lose momentum real fast. There are still far more hetero than homos. And I don't know of any young girls rushing out to buy a CD's artists who's word/lyrics is targeted towards their own 'brothers'. Eeww, they'll cry. On the other hand If push comes to shove he can always rely on his gay cohorts on Capitol Hill who are silent with their own sexual preference. Then again no he can't. Note: Good move on his part claiming that there's a possibilty of making out with girls too. That will earn him a few more months of support from unsuspecting hopeful females. I admit that I am hooked on Idol, and for the first time, I was completely entertained by Adam Lambert. I looked forward to every performance. It says a lot about his talent that he made it to 2nd place because the Christians just couldn't let a gay man win, and they power voted for Kris.

This is one crafty young man, who knows how to be in headline all the time. If he is not careful , he may turn off his fans, overexposing himself , by too much of his fabricated ifestyle ! There is a danger to this kind of behavior, his music will take a back seat....
