WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden isn't ruling out his own presidential aspirations.

The two-time presidential candidate says the current lineup is the right one, with Biden as President Barack Obama's No. 2. The vice president says he is a close adviser to Obama and is satisfied with his role in the administration.

For instance, Biden says he reacted to Supreme Court nominees as a veteran senator. Now, he gets to help pick them.

But he says he still has his eye on the Oval Office.

Biden is 66 years old and would be 73 on Election Day in 2016.

Biden unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination in 1988 and again in 2008.

Biden appeared Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

I love Joe Biden and would certainly vote for him in a second, but he is not running in 2016 and didn't say anything of the sort. About these very bad misleading headlines...shameful.

Could you please hire some one with a high school diploma to write your headlines. Totally misleading again.

Exactly right. The Huff Post does this to an astonishing degree. It has become a sensationalist rag. It does have some good writers/bloggers, so I keep coming back. But you have to wade through a lot of shallow nonsense to get to the stuff with integrity. One of these days, I'll just give it up entirely. What is AH thinking?

I agree with thr otherposters here...that is NOT what he said. He said he running for president in the future was an option for him. That's all!!! FALSE HEADLINE

I was just about to say what you said. I watched the same interview and he did not say he was running in 2016. He just said he hadn't given up or something to that effect. Very misleading headline huffpo.

Biden? Interesting thought, but I think SoS Clinton might have some interest in 2016 as well.

And if he loses, he thinks he has a chance to be vice-president.

That is not what he said! Lie! That's not what he said. He just never said he would not run. Not that he would run in 2016. Shame on media trying to get a paycheck for insinuation of what someone clearly did not say.

Where's the dignity in reporting? Either way Palin would be a nightmare. The woman does not understand Roe vs Wade as much as Biden does. She can't explain it! It hurts to listen to that woman speak. The only thing she loves is gossip talk and drags her kids into it to avoid discussing real political issues!

You will never be as accomplished as this man is. You could never understand politics and world politics like him. You are far from being qualified to touch his shoes.

Yes, we're all happy to think about him as President after Mr. Obama. Feels right.

I'd like to see him go up against Sarah Palin, just to see him humiliate her in a debate.

She does an excellent job on her own.. mangling the english language. But your right. This time he will put her in a corner and dismiss her as an elementary wanna be politician who got lucky.

LOL...Joe Biden already took care of Ms. Palin, as I recall, and did it very well, and with great aplomb.

Rachael Weiner, I'm only going to assume you were asked to dig, dig, dig, into this interview to ferret out anything, however minor or slightly (slightly is a stretch) true, that could be a headliner "gasp."

Am I correct here? Of course I am.

So, somehow, and I'm sure we both watched the same interview, you were able to mix q & a and wording from last minute chatter with VP Biden around just enough to produce another HP misleading headline.

And to make this headline seem legit, you drop in 30 or so other words of nonsense...that make no sense at all to an actual storyline..in hopes that it will make commenters think you actually wrote a post and not a "gotcha" headline.

Really, why do you do this? I'm embarrassed for you.

If Joe Biden were 100, still had his faculties, I'd vote for the man hands down. But that is not what was communicated here.

maddening.

This is a non-story...another useless question on meet the press. Biden for president? please. remember nbc, it's not always election season.

Vote for a third term for Obama - that is better - they did it for Roosevelt.
