To go along with this and as a sacrifice, I am willing to FLY on British Airways for FREE for a month.
Interesting... then their CEO and all of the EXECUTIVES and managers should
WORK FOR NOTHING from now on and just live off "the honor" of having their jobs.
After all, THEY wrecked their company, collected HUMONGOUS SALARIES
for a DOING A CRAPPY JOB!
Ask the 50 top paid exec's in the company if they will all work for a month for free. And then ask how many of them will be looking for a new job by the second week. You can just bet if they agree to go without pay now, they will ask for it in the long run in perks, stock dividends, bonus' or other compensation. If for no other reason than they talked the rest of the company into working for free.
Hmm, voluntary work is defined in the UK Minimum Wage Act. In the UK, you must be paid minimum wage to work, you can't volunteer to work for free unless it fits into the exemptions of the act:

Oh....and who's the pilot?
Why didn't I think of that?
Start a company. Hire thousands of people to work for me. Ask the all to work for free.
Or better yet, ask them all to pay me!
Brilliant!
"Excuse me, but our upper management have taken so much money that we seem to have run out. Would you mind working free for a fortnight or two?"
"Bugger off!"
Let BA die, like all slave based companies
The CEO wants his 40,000 employees to work for free for a month. He says he will work without pay for the month of July (and most likely collect his fat bonus at the end of the year). I hope his employees don't fall for that old trick. Then might as well bring back slavery, at least slaves are fed and housed while working for nothing.
I do not think this means that my airfare will be:
My portion of fixed cost of the plane + cost of meal(s) + my cost of the fuel.
WTF?
Hahahaha - so the CEOs walk away with millions over millions LOL.
Exactly right. It's one thing to make sacrifices for a company if they return the favor. However, the airlines have an impressive track record of NOT doing so.
And I suppose the management is going without pay as well? After all, they're the only ones who could really afford it, what with their average fortunes in the multimillion dollar/pound range.
