Obama Crushes Pesky Fly On CNBC (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama had a lengthy interview on CNBC today to talk Wall Street, health care, and his proposed financial industry reforms. The President was interrupted, however, by a pesky fly.

During a break in the interview, the President made quick work of the pest. "That was pretty impressive wasn't it?" President Obama said. "I got the sucker."

Does everyone else remember that interview McCain gave at some point during the campaign, when there was a fly actually on his face during part of the interview, and he just kind of sat there?! I recall Jon Stewart having some fun at the time with the attraction of carrion for flies...this Obama footage does make a rather painful comparison for McCain, doesn't it?!

I'm surprised he didn't try to negotiate witht the fly. Maybe even report it to the UN.

They tried to get the fly to leave. It refused. The President said shoo. It did not leave. It encroached upon his personal space and he had to take it out.

lol good one. But actually, in a funny way he did try to "negotiate" with the fly. According to the reporter and according to the video clip of the situation, Obama tried for a few minutes to whisk the fly away, but when the fly got too close Obama swiftly dealt with it.

Since we are jokingly making silly comparisons or analogies for fun, I'd like to think that Obama would deal with real life "threats" by giving the threat an opportunity to change its course and go away, and that he'd deal swiftly and decisively with a threat should that threat choose not to go away.

How would Bush and Cheney handle the fly? They'd probably declare a "war on insects" They'd suspect, target, and be fearful of every single insect that was minding its own business. This war on insects would probably have some self righteous crusading name like "Operation Restore Dominion" - from the biblical idea that mankind has been given dominion over the animal kingdom.

They'd continually warn us that the flies represent a threat to the human way of life. All this would be happening while the actual offending fly had long slipped out of the room unnoticed never to be seen again.

The next target would be the spiders, because spiders and insects are the same thing aren't they?
