what an amazing woman. hollywood will never see the likes of her particular brand of elegance again.
I suggest people check ot her bio. She was in German occupied Netherland
Marrilyn who? This woman was pure beauty, elegance, and class, along the lines of Julie Andrews (who I also just love).
The photo of her in the cowboy had is just absolutely stunning. What a beautiful women, inside and out. They broke the mold there.
I forgot to mention how I wished she had done her own singing for My Fair Lady. I saw a TV show about the making of it and her singing one of the songs herself. It was fine. Heck, they let Rex Harrison do his own singing. She was good in that movie despite the bad press.
What an elegant, classy, timeless beauty, especially those expressive eyes. Someone beat me to mentioning her voice which I don't recall being mentioned a lot. I'm so glad she was in movies at a time when the camera lingered over an actor's face for more than a second or two before a quick cut or edit. When she was on the screen it was hard to notice anything else and, again, that great voice. Later in life, she committed herself to the work of UNICEF. I recall pictures of her hugging small children in Africa as part of that work. A great lady.
She was just such an elegant beauty, and that lovely voice.... And all those wonderful films: Love in the Afternoon, Two for the Road, Wait Until Dark, Sabrina, Roman Holiday. She was truly an original.
Check out the French actress Audrey Tatou, http://www
What a timeless beauty. I wish I was around during her day. Sometimes its hard for me to believe there was a time when movie stars were classy and talented; nowadays they have rarely have either characterstic.
