Rohrabacher: Obama Is A "Cream Puff" For Not Interfering In Iran

Yesterday, President Obama explained his relative public silence with regard to the situation in Iran, saying, "It's not productive, given the history of U.S.-Iranian relations, to be seen as meddling, the U.S. president meddling in Iranian elections." Later in the day, on Radio America's Dateline Washington, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) responded to Obama's measured statements on Iran by calling him a "cream puff" and predicting that under Obama's leadership "things" will get "very bad, very quickly":

This article is misleading. He actually said this in regards to Obama and North Korea, not about Iran.

I think it's more than implied that he thinks this assessment applies to Iran as well:

This guy claims to've sent a video to Iran. I sure hope it's ignored, because Obama's appoarch at this time is the right one. Bush kept those leaders charged up with ammo to maintain their revolutionary stance. Now they don't have that with Obama,so the clerics are like a duck out of water.

Obama is not the President of Iran, he is the President of the USA. What right does he have to go to Iran and tell them what to do in thier country, give me a freaking break!!!!What in the heck is suppose to do in a counrty where he has no power???

These simplistic righties somehow think that the mob in the street is pro-American and pro American-style democracy. Guys, whoever comes out on top in Iran is going to be highly skeptical of the U.S. and will continue nuclear research. The mullahs are in charge and will stay in charge. When the dust settles, we might have a slightly easier time talking to the Iranian government, but we are not seeing the emergence of a staunch, freedom-loving ally over there. Not only will our overt support of the opposition be a bad idea, it will turn to outrage when the opposition turns out to be only about five degrees removed from Ahmedinijad.

A great opportunity to do what - start a war with Iran - meddle some more in Iranian politics - destroy our already shaky relationship with Iran?

Hey, Rohrabacher, here's an idea, do the job you're paid to do - take care of this country, pay attention to what your constituents are saying and let the Iranians attend to their own affairs.
