Your house is worth $125,000 but you paid $250,000 don"t worry with "Mark-To-Market" Neutered you can say whatever you want to about your home value and no one can refute you!
Now when you go in for a loan, simply declare the house is worth $300,000 and along with your clean "ON-THE-BOOKS Balance Sheet" with no visible other debts means you get money from the FED at 1% interest or maybe less!
Why can"t this world be true for ALL AMERICANS like it is for Wall Street?
We do not own Congress and they DO using ill-gotten FUNDS!
Are the Wall Street Banks really healthy? With "OFF-THE-BOOKS" accounting and "MARK-TO-MARKET" Neutered who knows what the truth is!

any company that receives federal bailout funds should have their corporate fleet taken over by the air force and put into long term storage, period!

John Edwards talked of the Two Americas. These CEOs live in one that is luxury and priviledge.....most of us live in the other.....scraping by.....a few missed paychecks from losing everything.

Not sure if the pic with this article is a stock photo of any jet or actual pics of bank jets, but I have seen jets with that particular paint designs on Kauai within the last few months. No reason for them to be here other than booze and beach.

Kind of like Nancy Pelosi flying to China to talk to the Chinese about "global warming." Ah, hemmm -- yeah, right. Or her silly flights back and fourth from Washington to California. The government's just as evil as those "evil corporations" which are employing many of you.

Nice to see debunked gop talking points being used long after they were pretty much abandoned by the GOP due to the through trashing they received over using them.

You do know other Senators, Representatives use private jets each week to fly home right especially Republicans? They aren't made to live in Washington DC all the time. Just five to six days of the week.
Also guess what Bush and others especially Republicans who denied global warming flew private jets to events to speak out against global warming.

Private Jets for the Speaker of the House and other reps is done for their security since they are in the line of succession. It's been that way for decades since a single nuke was determined efficent enough to wipe out most of the command and control of the goverment.

The same corporation who'd offshore my job to line their own pockets at the top? That same evil corporation?

At least Pelosi is just flying to China, not sending my job there!

He did say to stay away from Vegas. But the Republicans got angry about that and claimed he was suppresing freedom.

The government should have asked for the jets as part of the deal for the bailout money.

That said, since I have traditionally made my living designing for corporate and commercial and military jets, the economy sux. While we punish the corporate types for flying around in their airplanes, they stop purchasing, which effects a large number of people. Cessna, Beech, and Gulfstream are American manufacturers who are in a pinch. Their market is cyclical anyway, but when the commercial business is also tanking, some places find it tougher than others.

Could it be that there are already too many corporate jets? It's like the housing market. When they built too many houses, they invented schemes to get people to buy them. When that backfired and they had too many foreclosures, they didn't stop building houses, they just kept right on building. Maybe there are some industries that need to go on hold until demand catches up with supply. Build something else during the slump. Use the facilities to build wind turbines or something. If that doesn't work, take some time off. Nobody ever said your income is guaranteed, and nobody said you should have an ever-increasing paycheck. Mine doesn't increase. Join the club. My solution for the TARP was not to bail them out, and to let them fail. That bailout money that disappeared should have gone to the working poor (yes, whatever amount in Trillions we gave to the richest people on earth). Those people who haven't seen their wages keep pace with inflation for 30 years would have deposited it in their banks (infusing the banks with needed capital), paid-off overdue mortgages (easing foreclosures), paid-off credit cards (helping that industry), paying-off student loans (resulting in a more educated workforce {and the general population}), after that, they might even buy a car (the big three might not have needed a bailout). If you cheat people's wages for 30 years and ship their jobs to China, payback is necessary. If it's redistribution, so be it.

I've had over a year off, thank you very much.

I grew up as part of the working poor, and understand much better than many.

We've got way too many jets and planes destroying the atmosphere already. That's OUR air to breath, and no, they can't just ruin it to make more money for themselves. Can they?

So let's say the same thing about cars and trucks. One car per every four people, no exceptions. And get rid of all vehicles getting less than 24 mpg. Your car doesn't get good milage, leather is cheap. Walking is healthy. Used to walk 10 miles to school every day uphill both ways.

Geithner, still closely tied to Wall Street's high rollers, became Treasury Secretary despite his failure to pay taxes he owed, and Obama backed him up as he favored the Wall Street thugs who brought on the economic crisis while making up excuses--some totally disingenuous--for his anti-populist policies. Daschle, just as cozy with the health insurance industry and big pharma as Geithner is with Wall Street, was appointed secretary of HHS with the mission of reforming healthcare, until forced to withdraw after his own tax avoidance problems leaked out. Daschle continued to work secretly with a group of political has-beens with similar ties to the insurance industry and big pharma to develop healthcare "reform" favoring private health insurers and big pharma and omitting the one feature the American people overwhelmingly want--single-payer or a "public option."

Does anyone detect a pattern here?
