Does anybody do psychological profiles on cops BEFORE they are given guns?
Nothing like being made to feel safe by an armed, armored and angry domestic police force.
Police departments need to start RANDOM DRUG TESTING. This sounds like a case of rage induced by steroid use. (I would suspect meth but they seemed to be hungry)
Suspended? If that had been one of us brandishing a firearm at clerks in a McDonald's, they would have locked us up and thrown away the key, all the while accusing us of a terroristic act!
Some days people have just had enough. Remember that 1993 movie Falling Down with Michael Douglas? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eREiQhBDIk And for that, he can say goodbye to his career.
the city ones are the worst. I may not pull a g.un, but I can understand.
The cop should understand that it takes time to round up the entire staff and allow all of them enough time to spit in his big mac.
Maybe he thought he was at the donut shop drive-thru.
Maybe it would help if we let them use their flashy lights and siren to get to the head of the line?
Why haven't these cops been arrested and charged with crimes?
Would you or I not be in jail by now if we had pulled a gun at a McDonald's?
WHAT IS WITH THIS POLICE PRIVILEGE business in America?
There are a lot of good people in the force.
And then there are also a lot of bullies who are drawn to the power of the force like a moth to flame, and then promptly proceed to shame themselves and the force through acts of stupidity such as this.
Bad apples are going to get in the barrel. What's inexcusable is when they are allowed to stay despite clear warnings that the person lacked the character to serve as a law enforcement officer.
The police can't do their job without broad public support.
Idiots like this make the job harder and the streets more dangerous for honest, decent officers.
The police force needs to be more careful in recruiting and far more vigorous in booting bad cops.
Allowing bad cops to carry a badge is bad for everyone.
and once again as in so many other cases the so-called "good ones" are protecting this guy.
Unfortunately, these days the bullies seriously out number the good people these days. In today's culture of the police profession has been overtaken by people who have little regard for objectivity, the truth, honesty, respect for others, professionalism, or justice. They regularly justify perjury by the logical gymnastics of saying that they can lie in court because the accused may not have committed the particular crime, but, of course, got away with something else and deserves to be punished no matter what the truth. All too often they reach a conclusion about the guilt of the accused long before they ever complete their "investigation" and taylor their efforts to justify the pre-investigation conclusions while ignoring the facts that prove to the contrary.
No, tragically, the police, by in large, are just another urban gang that pushes people around; only they have taxpayer money to pay for their fast cars and heavy arms.
Great. More McMorons . . .
