Border Police

Videos posted to YouTube last year have emerged that show Israeli Border Police harassing and humiliating Palestinians for their own amusement, Haaretz reports:

In one clip uploaded to the video sharing website an Arab youth is shown in arid terrain, slapping himself, while a voice is heard instructing him to say "I love you, Border Police," and "I will f**k you, Palestine," in Arabic. The victim is forced to respond to everything he is ordered to do, to the raucous laughter of the cameraman and his friends, all Border Policemen.

Here is the video in question, watch:

The videos are filed as "Comedy" on YouTube and each have over 2500 views. Another one has a Palestinian man who is commanded to repeat the lyrics "One Hummus and one ful [cooked broad beans], I love you Border Police" in Hebrew while clapping and hopping up and down.

Watch:

Despite the videos, the Haaretz story quotes a Border Police spokesman who claims that there has been a decline in reports of abuses of late.

There are presumable more videos than these two. Feel free to provide links and, if you are able, translations in the comments below.

Obama's very first speech after winning the nomination was to AIPAC where he promised "an undivided Jerusalem" , a pander so blatant he received chuckles. If you honestly think he goes from that to "an honest broker" you're...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:38 AM on 06/21/2009

Yeah. From Israels point of view 'Honest broker' demands the US gives blind support of Israel, no criticism of violent Israeli policies, support of illegal Israeli settlements, supporting Israel at the UN no matter the cost to the US, ignoring Palestine completely, and helping Israel pour sand into the gears of Palestinian freedom.

People aound the world look at US support of Israels oiccupation with frustration.

As usual, Israeli hardliners carry out the same abuses and atrocities to which Jewish people have been subjected for thousands of years. I can never figure why they can't see that their own actions are just as brutish.

Well, I went out this morning to water my tomatoes and someone had "keyed" the side of my truck. You know, scraped the side of my truck with a key or something.
I'm guessing it was because of the "Free Palestine" sticker I put on the back glass on the camper shell...since they used a sharpie or marker to cross it out.

I've had the same truck for 7 years.

I used to have a "U.S. Army" decal on the back camper window. I'm a vet.
I used to get flipped off and not know why. I think it was the decal.
Anyway, about two years ago, I got keyed and the decal defaced.
I always meant to get another decal, but then someone gave me the Free Palestine sticker.
So now I need another decal.....

I'm just sharing. Not going to speculate.

But, since I'm upset with Obama right now, I'm going to change my Garage Sale For Obama into a Garage Sale for Gaza.
I'm going to make a nice big sign...maybe two of them.
White poster board and use red, green and black markers.

Yep, that is what I'm going to do.

Thanks for listening....Cigars all around!

Wow. That would really flip my lid.

Me, Id probably paint the whole vehicle red, black, green and white just to make the point.

Anyway, Sharpie ink dissolves very readily in acetone - get yourself some Nail Polish Remover. Itll just wipe off and be good as new.

Another fan here too. definitely. I am sorry about the keying. It's beyond the pale to destroy or deface someone's property because he is expressing his point of view. Attempts to shut people up usually backfire as your reaction is just the opposite of what was intended, but I think, philosophically speaking, the opposition is still in a state of shock that so many red-blooded Americans are sick & tired of them. Too many yrs. of free rides of enabling vilification of all things Palestinian. A new & long overdue point of view about Palestine is emerging in the culture here, creating a great deal of dismay, shock & befuddlement on the part of many individuals, those who are used to passes, blank check, approval no matter what .

So true, so true. I once had a professor who didn't like my paper about Biblical history, but still couldn't give me a bad grade on it. I said the writers of the Old Testament were defaming the Egyptians & other great peoples as immoral & without character. The OT was an interpretation from the point of view of the underdogs about these more advanced societies, & not in the voice of anyone from them.

BUT i thought that all IDF personals are loving-caring-carefree-compassionate-principled hairdressers.

That's the constant image you get if you're media lite & believe what you see on the screen, it's detached from any reality.

Where is the backbone of hollywood to show what is really happening in that part of the world!

...and Israel wonders why the Palestinians hate them so... Good god, they take land from it's previous residents and purvey a 21st century colonialism in the west bank, they restrict trade to the refugee camps, they prevent the Palestinians from coming, going or doing anything else and they humiliate them like this, and THEY STILL THINK THEY'RE RIGHT!.

what is the difference between a refugee camp and a concentration of people in a camp, subject to the whims of their guards.

The IDF is achieving new lows as they continue policies of state sanctioned apartheid and ethnic cleansing. Their only hope, and for that matter the only hope the US has to EVER repair our image in the Middle east and move forward, is for Israel to completely end the settlements (a form of ethnic cleansing and apartheid that we are perceived as complicit in in the middle east), remove the IDF and allow a Palestinian state to emerge without constraints.

I hope Obama has the will to stand up to both Israel and the self centered cowards in the house and senate.

The settlements are morally indefensible and MUST be razed to the ground and evacuated.

It's not like the PALESTINIANS have 3.4 million square miles.

Could you BE anymore racist? You make it seem like all Muslims in the Middle East are one giant nation with one nethnic group that shares everything. They are not just ONE PEOPLE. There are Persians and Arabs, Sunni and Shiite, many many different clans and tribes.

You discussing land that is not part of Palestine and making it seem like they HAVE the option of using and living on all that land is like us invading and taking over Japan and then, when they complain about us taking their land, we say, "Uh, do you SEE how big China is?"

Yeah what a legit security check and threat. Israel needs to check itself seriously because the Obama administration isnt going to shield them from global criticism like the Bush administration did through their proxy empowerment, money, weapons etc.

Right, Obama need Israel. We don't send "aid" to Israel we send a "bribe". Israel doesn't act out of it's own national security interest because it wants to keep the US as an ally. If we withdraw our "aid" Israel would do what it should to protect itself.

It would take Israel one day (more like one hour) to destroy Iran's oil production - which is what it should do in response to Hezbollah, Iran's proxy, attacks on Israel. Hezbollah has said repeatedly it wants the complete destruction of Israel and they follow Tehran's orders. So there is no guessing where they stand.

Should Israel destroy Iran's oil production (sending their economy to a screeching halt) no doubt Iran would respond by attacking the Gulf Arab's oil production. Starting a complete global economic meltdown and drawing the US's 5th fleet into a conflict with Iran.

Obama is more concerned with getting the average joe a health care plan than he is worried about the plight of the Palestinians. If you have any doubts about the autocratic and belligerency of Iran just take a look at the headlines.

"A culture of impunity" in the IDF is not official policy but it is the dominant culture.

This is official policy and, in reality, a cruel joke :
The IDF is subordinate to the directions of the democratic civilian authorities and the laws of the state.
The values - The IDF and its soldiers are obligated to protect human dignity. Every human being is of value regardless of his or her origin, religion, nationality, gender, status or position.
Credibility - The IDF servicemen and women shall present things objectively, completely and precisely, in planning, performing and reporting. They will act in such a manner that their peers and commanders can rely upon them in performing their tasks.
Purity of Arms - The IDF servicemen and women will use their weapons and force only for the purpose of their mission, only to the necessary extent and will maintain their humanity even during combat. IDF soldiers will not use their weapons and force to harm human beings who are not combatants or prisoners of war, and will do all in their power to avoid causing harm to their lives, bodies, dignity and property.
The above are certainly unique in a region where military coups are the rule, where suicide bombers and terrorists aim to inflict the maximum numbers of civilian casualties, imaginary victories are announced every war and imaginary "massacres" are staged as propaganda ploys.
