Jon & Kate Gosselin To Announce "Life-Changing Decision" On Monday's Show (VIDEO)

Jon & Kate Gosselin will announce a "life-changing decision" on Monday's show, according to a promo for the special one-hour "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

"Recently we've made some life-changing decisions," Kate says in the clip. "Decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace."

The couple's troubled marriage has been in the media spotlight for weeks, though they were spotted together this week with their children at their Pennsylvania home.

The promo clip, seen below, may be TLC's attempt to revive the show's ratings, which are way up compared to previous seasons but have fallen drastically from the record-setting season premiere last month.

My theory: Jon and Kate are going to announce their 'divorce', but will be 'back together' by the season finale.

The only announcement that would make any sense for this family is that this terrible show is off the air, forever. The actual announcement is likely to be much worse - that the parents are either separating or actually divorcing, and that the show will continue so as to milk every painful moment of the kids' existence.

Someday, every one of these kids is going to write a "tell-all" book describing how this whole tv-reality bit destroyed their childhoods, broke their family apart, and took away all respect they had for either parent.

Neither of these "adults" is thinking about their children for one minute - no matter what they say.

sine this thread is based on theories and guessing then I will throw out there some things I have seen on the net..

1. some over at Gosslins WithOut Pity are posting links to an article from a paper in Pa that says Kate is being investigated for child abuse and neglect.. Steaming from the photos of Leah being spanked and from the whole withholding water from Mady..
2. Radar Online has pictures of Jon smoking what looks to be a joint.
3. Saw another article stating that they are going to give the show a rest for a while to sort out person issues..bu­t it also said that TLC was in talks with OctoMom.. trading one trashy show for another..
4. there are photos of Jon seeing a attorney in New York to file papers for divorce..
5. Kate got caught kissing Mr Gray by Mady when they were on vacation at the beach..

I am pretty sure some will climb all over me for posting this.. but really all this thread is about is speculation about the next show...so here is some speculations from around the net...

Looks like this family may have finally figured out that being on a reality show is bad for a family. Too bad there are a gagillion copycat shows spawned by their success. I think there needs to be legislation to address this tyope of explotation of children. Can you imagine the theapy these kids will need? I used to watch occasionally, but now never - and the same goes for the copy cat shows.

I really want to say something cutting about them, but its just pathetic for everyone involved and it would leave a bad taste in my mouth to spit on them in their troubles. There are some people who I am happy to throw tomatoes at while they are in the stocks, but merely normal people in pathetic situations­...nope.

Can we get a reality show on Karl Rove going (maybe a TRIAL?) so I can gleefully jeer at something?

What a tragic mess for all those kids. These two need to break their contract, get out of the limelight and take control of their lives back. Marriage is hard enough with one or two kids, let alone the brood they've got in tow, without everyone watching and criticising every move. This fiasco would cause any marriage to fail.

Guys, in the basketball metaphor of romance, do not go up for that Kate rebound if the big announcement is she's unhitched / unhitching from Jon. The babysitter costs for that brood can bankrupt an oil baron, and she's incapable of single births. You've been warned.

This show has turned into a tragic mess. Everything seems to have crashed and burned after the move to the estate and the completely choreographed, fully comped, lavish trip to Hawaii for the renewal of their wedding vows. That was probably the last time I really watched the show all the way through and it sickened me then because it was so over the top and non "reality." When I think back to the Hawaii episodes and Kate's comments about how important it was to have the kids participate in the ceremony because Jon and Kate wanted the kids to know that their parents would be together forever, it shows how the best of intentions can go completely awry when you stop focusing on the treasured relationships in your life and become obsessed with material things and a greedy society's definition of "success."

I understand what you are saying... however things got off to a bad start with the decision to have SIX babies at once! That is where it all truly started.

The show and all the $$ and ego-stroking only prolonged the agony. Imagine how Kate would have coped if there were no sponsors, no $$, no goodies, no nannies and no hours and hours of Mommy Time for her?? It would have been all over in six months flat.

MSNBC is reporting that "sources close to the situation" say J & K will announce they are legally separating, while other "sources close to the situation" say that they will announce they are divorcing. Both have apparently met with divorce attorneys recently. I'm betting it is separation, since that allows them to drag the drama out for purposes of the show. Except that they've obviously been separated for quite awhile anyway, so if that's what the big announcement is, it's just more trumped up TLC anti-climaticism.

I hope the announcement is that they plan to stop the show to work things out the best way possible for the family, but I know this is wishful thinking! If this is just TLC trying to boost ratings, and there really is no major announcement that means this show is heading in the gutter anyway! If you have to continue to build people up to watch this show because there not tuning in every week it means the show itself is not interesting to people any longer, and the tabloid news has taken over.

If divorce is in their future, or they're planning to work things out I just really hope it happens OFF camera!
