Keith Olbermann: Fox News Makes "Worst Persons In The World" (VIDEO)

First Posted: 07/18/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:30 PM ET

Countdown's "Worst Persons in the World" tonight included House Republicans, for comparing themselves to the Iranian protesters (for which one in particular, Pete Hoekstra, is being mercilessly mocked on Twitter), Newt Gingrich, for misquoting the Declaration of Independence in his latest column, and finally, Fox News, for their indignant responses to Obama calling them out for their coverage of his administration during his interview with CNBC.

Watch it below.

Exactly. Everyone should tune in. Keith is informative, backing up his claims with actual film footage, direct quotes and historical references.

One might actually believe Olbermann - had one never watched FOX News.

Calling a FOX News a "political entity" this coming from MSNBC, the GE owned syndicate whose failing parent company actively solicites energy dollars from the administration. In return Obama can be assured only favorable press and entire mini-series dedicated to the administration.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30892505/

Barf!

And the rest of Olbermann's rants, a bunch of unsupportable tripe. As for FOX News being largely anti-Obama, yes absolutely. Somebody has to be. With the rest of the MSM being completely in the tank for the guy FOX News is the only network that will air dessent.

Well, Vieux, "..dessent.." could be another word for the bullsh*t Faux airs every day..but, if you meant the word 'dissent', then Faux far exceeds realistic parameters for the definition of that, instead sinking their 'programming' straight into dark, dank, hate-tinged rhetoric..! ;) ...

All emotion and no facts. How can argue with that?
11:57 AM on 06/19/2009
if dissent is BS, then I guess that is what all your favorite networks broadcast for the eight previous years then, right?

As the great statesman Adlai Stevenson once said..."I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them. "

And there you have the difference between Fox and MSNBC (Ed, Keith, & Rachel; sometimes Chris, and never Joe) MSNBC may run more negative stories about Republicans than positive ones but at least they are the truth - whereas Fox News definitely runs more negative stories about Democrats but while there might be one fine grain of truth to the stories they run it is mixed with so much obfuscation, misdirection, opportunistic editing, and out-in-out falsehoods that whatever truth was in a story gets hidden by the chitload of minutia.

And truthfully, if someone is doing a good job, has the support of a vast majority of the people, and is not being dishonest or deceptive; then why must anybody or any media outlet have to be Anti-Obama. If President Obama deserves criticism he will get it from everyone - when it is deserved and warranted - not because for every positive there must be a negative! That type of thinking is sooooo pre-Obama!!!!

"Has not been dishonest or deceptive"

You've perfectly illustrated the problem by relying totally on the propaganda media.

Lie #1: Out of Iraq in 16 Months

FAIL: We're at 19 months w/ a combat force of 50,000 remaining after that

---
Lie #2: Lobbyists
"If you are a lobbyist entering my administration, you will not be able to work on matters you lobbied on or in the agencies that you lobbied during the previous two years,"

FAIL: William Lynn, a lobbyist for the defense contractor Raytheon just before his nomination to the DoD. William V. Corr, lobbied as an official with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, just before being nominated for deputy secretary of health and human services. Cecilia Muñoz, now director of intergovernmental affairs in the Executive Office of the President, formerly lobbied for National Council of La Raza.
---
Lie #3: He Read the Spendulous Bill

FAIL: The provisions for the AIG bonuses were in the Bill, yet Obama (you know the guy who signed the bill) was "apparently" unaware of it (coincidentally a couple days AFTER the press went nuts over the issue).

---
Lie #4: predicted GDP growth projection

FAIL: Obama specifically referenced 'Blue Chip Projections' as being "perfectly consistent" with his "assumptions" on GDP growth. This is false. The Blue Chip projection is only 2.1 % next year, instead of Obama's 3.2 %, and less than 3 % in each of the next three years instead of Obama's 4 % or better.

KO is a little to 'Over The Cliff Left' for my taste. However, he does provide news info and/or relevant commentary throughout his show.
05:07 PM on 06/18/2009
Go get the whole lot of them, Mr. Olberman.

They are not a substantial news station...always telling lies to fit their stories.

Yippee! Yippee! Yippee for Keith Olberman. Yousa Boss. Keep up the good work.

Hey, Keith, while you were obsessing over Fox, Nancy Grace took your distant second place away. Better get her on that list.

Grace is a disgrace- she lied about the way her fiance was killed to gain sympathy and to outrage people. She assumes that everyone is guilty and she is more and more becoming a Bill O with t its.

Most of us Libs are not couch potatoes....we get our news online from multiple sources and watch MSNBC on the web when it fits our schedule. We are busy keeping our minds and bodies active, participating in life, not letting Fox News tell us how to live it.
07:03 PM on 06/18/2009
I love your reasoning why the Obama TV network (pmsnbc) is bringing up the rear end, consistently. You libs are just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy participating in life no time to watch hot head self-destruct, shown 3 times nightly!

Love KO. He is so hot when he is angry (which is 99% of the time). KO is my favorite "fat cat".
Thank you FOX News for Keith's rating and enough material to talk about every night.

Gotta love KO. The rightwing hates him with a passion for calling out their lies, hypocrisy and BS.

Just look at the tro//s on this board. It's the same when Al Gore is being written about, they swarm the post decrying him.

Same with KO. The trogs come here acting as though they speak for everyone and know the truth.
