Obama Fox News

Daily Finance:

But just because you're right doesn't mean you're well-advised to go around saying so. Obama, who lectured Ailes in person at a secret meeting last summer, may think he can browbeat Fox into being nicer to him. He can't. Fox made its bones on the notion that it, alone among TV networks, is not part of the Liberal Media Conspiracy. For Obama to single out Fox for censure only confirms that impression. Not to mention that Obama's complaining about Fox's darts while gratefully basking in MSNBC's equal-but-opposite tilt sounds suspiciously like whining.

Everything on this board only shows one thing is absolutely true about Fox...that they tend to express a viewpoint other than your own. And you find that very disturbing.

I say attack attack attack and let the ignorant that listen to their lies know that they lie and are an active arm and ally of conservative republicans. Andrew Jackson and his friends founded The Globe a newspaper dedicated to getting his message out over the 2nd US Bank and it head Biddle message ftha was opposite of what A Jackson was about.. MSNBC is far from the ally I'd like it to be b/c they have Morning Joe which I no longer watch and actively boycott and email for it's destruction from MSNBC and ever Keith and Rachel will break with Obama when he does things that smack of continuing Bush policies as they should. Fox needs to be called out, exposed and destroyed in it's current form.

This writer is all wet...virtually none of this story is true, on its face. Obama was asked if the media was too biased in his favor and he rightly pointed out that a significant network was predisposed to attack him daily. this is a fact. and an understatement. Obama did not attack Fox, was not being "pettish" and IMO the only raison d'etre for this slime article is to apply for a job at Fox.

Amazing how someone can take a simple statement of fact and make such a spin out of it. Do you guys REALLY think the Prez has time for you? Fox ratings are high because
1. rating system probably rigged
2. people who are not into Fox will watch them, not because they like what is being reported, but for entertainment purposes ONLY
3. people will watch just to keep documentation of what the lunatics are saying, so that when Fox denies comments made " I did not say that or I did not report that", then we have the documentation to prove they did.
4. we have to keep tab on the terrorist reportings! We have to watch out for our country!

Add to that the fact that FOX pays public places like waiting rooms, gyms, train stations, airports, bars, and any place you can think of that keeps a TV on all day for customers or passer byes, to keep it tuned to FOX, and there's your blown up 24 hour ratings.....oh and Nielsens' monopoly too.

"Chris Matthews's history of over-the-top praise for Bush and his administration includes his recent false claim that "[e]verybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs"; his statement that Bush sometimes "glimmers" with "sunny nobility"; his claim that Vice President Dick Cheney "hit home runs" throughout his 2004 debate with then-Sen. John Edwards; and his comment that the debate was like "a water pistol against a machine gun."

That's just one small example that debunks your lie about GWB not getting compliments from msnbc. MSNBC gushed over him just as the entire American media did. The first time a dissenting voice to GWB was presented on MSNBC was when Olbermann got a show, around 2005, too late to even have an effect on GWB presidency, as he had already been re-elected, and most of the damage was already done to the country.

The more that Fox news is called out, the better. The hatred and bigotry incites their lowest common demoninator audience to repulsive and violent acts. They should be stopped. I can't want for O'Reilly to be called to testify in the hate crime trial of that Operation Rescue murderer.

Fox news does not engage in journalism - they do not report. They spin - they mislead - and they manipulate. I would go so far as to say they undermine democracy by willfully spoonfeeding lies to a percentage of the voters in the US.

Convince people that the sun is the moon and they'll vote that day is night.

With the coverage that CNN is giving to the few Republicans calling out your President and ignoring the majority voices of the experts and all the other voices supporting his words and tone, do you think CNN is any better?

Sadly, you really do not have news in the objective, investigative mode any more. GPS, 60 minutes and the first few minutes of the 3 mainstream channels, PBS News Hour and that is just about it.

Didn't hear anything that would indicate to me the POTUS drew a line in the proverbial sand or declared war on Faux. He stated what we all know; their journalistic mission is to attack and oppose President Barack Obama. If John McCain had one the election their reporting would be completely different. I struggle to believe that POTUS, as much as he would like to have their support, is going to lose much sleep over the wingnut loyalists at Faux. I wouldn't give them access to my doghouse as disrespectful, biased, and inflammatory as they are.

There will always be folks who will watch Fox Noise and take in the comments as real news and comment. How sad.

Say it ain't so HuffPo. I can't believe you linked us to this piece of wrap. I went to the link and read the whole thing, which is a despicable piece of stupid lies. It makes me so mad that a "legitimate" organization would print such lies, and then HuffPo would validate it further.

Here's a blow by blow of why this piece blows:

1. The premise. Obama was not "playing press critic". He was suggesting that it is not true that there is no critical coverage of him( FOX).

2. The president "vented his frustration". There was no venting in the interview. He was responding to a question. He smiled as he delivered his answered and showed no frustration. Big fat lie.

3. The president was not asked how he felt about the coverage of his administration. Notice that is not in quotes? He was asked what I stated above, which can be proven by watching the interview on line. The interviewer suggested that there was no critical coverage and the president corrected the record. Big fat lie.

(more to come -- oooo I'm so mad I have to keep going!!)

Probably all good points, but the context of the story is that being critical of Fox is not a wise move on his part. It may have been in response to a question, but his answer was what the piece is talking about.. He gave a bad response by specifically attacking Fox News. I totally agree with what he said, Fox News is definitely Anti-Obama, but for him to say so was probably a mistake.
Are you mad because this is an article critical of the President? It kind of proves the point of the article.......It's tough to find Press that is critical of the President.

Yeah, and MSNBC has more "paid analysts" or "guests" like Buchanan et al, who are atrociously critical of Obama, so much that they ALWAYS overpower and overtalk whatever perceived pro-Obama stance the host may have had.

I have to admire anyone who states the obvious - namely that Fox is a joke network. MSNBC does NOT present an "equal but opposite tilt". I hear lots of intelligent criticism from just about everyone there, including Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.
When Bush did something stupid or was caught in yet another lie, Fox just ignored it, and they still do today when Rep. "leaders" put their feet in their mouths. And if that doesn't work, they just lie or put out half-truths and misquotes (Hannity). But never a positive word for Obama. Like I said , a joke. I'm glad the president gets that.

MSNBC fits into your world view, therefore you can't bring yourself to admit their far left slant. When President Bush was in office, they ripped him apart, and probably helped lead to much of the hatred of him that you saw on websites like this one and others. I would say that Fox News and MSNBC are equal but opposite, except that Fox News is much better at it.

Didn't know that President Obama was in he running for Fox News.

I don't think he would lower himself to their class so what is this all about?.

Obama stated a fact, not an opinion. He was not being a media critic as the article implies. I have faith that some day we will look back at the phenomenon that is faux and wonder how we ever could have let a propaganda organ pass itself off as being objective journalism. Faux's very existence is an insult to anyone with a modicum of critical thinking skills.

Fox News is what it is; NOTHING BUT COMMENTARY of a hateful and mean spirited nature toward President Obama. They were, and are, the network for, of, and by republicans. President Obama has already "won". From the comments I hear about Fox, the ratings remain high because people like to laugh at them as they call themselves "journalist". Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the ratings were high because thats the only network wingnuts have, where as the normal people have all the channels to watch, and obviously the wingnuts are just so angry and bitter that their ticket lost and they are just sore losers.just a thought : )

Or MAYBE clear thinking viewers who used to watch ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC news started to recognize those networks had nothing but tingly feelings running up their collective legs when they "reported" on Obama with gooey syrup dripping out of their mouths.
