I was just the other night traveling down Algonquin Rd. via Street View, marveling at the beauty of the area & thankful it hasn't been developed beyond recognition. I grew up in next door (although you'll never hear it admitted by anyone from BH) Carpentersville ('50s/'60s, when it was new) & had dreams of some day living in Barrington Hills. Now I'm in Houston & Street View is the closest I'll get.

I'm sorry for the problems with this property, but thankful the previous owner attached the covenant. People need to be reminded of what open spaces & trees look like, even if it's just as they pass by on their way to the city.

We were NOT dilinquent on mortgage, yet mortgage company filed suit against us because of terrors in accounting our payments and escrow. Mortgage company claimed we didn't have escrow account to cover our taxes, although we consistantly payments over and above the actual principal and interest for the escrow account they told us was required. They claimed they paid taxes for us and we owed them tax$ PLUS thousands in fees and attorney's fees also. When we tried to straighten things out they sold the mortgage to another entity. Spent year going through the same thing w/that company, original mortgage company passed along the whole problem to them. As we paid thousands of dollars to these companies, they kept saying we owed them thousands more. After a year of 2nd company taking thousands of $ from us in payments, & contending we owed couple of years of back taxes and fees, they sold the debt to 3rd company. 3rd company refiled original suit. After 2 1/2 years of trying to work things out with these Mortgage Servicers we found they had lost our mortgage docs, and couldn't account for payments or escrow accounts recieved. The first company, was insolvent & taken over by a bank. We had to counter sue & contact our state's Attorney General's office. Our attorney fought their lawsuit and bought us time for the Attorney General's office to work through everything with the mortgage company. Getting them to do the right thing shouldn't have cost us

I've driven by this farm for years and think it is very beautiful. Way out of my price range though.
