Air America Media:

Though she is arguably one of the least interesting characters to ever grace the screen of a reality TV show, Lauren Conrad -- star of MTV's increasingly vapid and increasingly fake, "The Hills" -- has managed to weasel her perfectly groomed, throaty-voiced self into my heart.

There are many reasons I love that girl, most of them embarrassingly superficial, but the main one is that contrary to most people's opinion and probably better judgment, I think she's a wonderful role model for young girls.

The "don't overpluck your eyebrows" was a life-changing enlightenment for me. How did I not know that?

Lauren Conrad, you complete me.

This article is someone who feels embarrassed for watching this empty show (never seen it, I'm sad I even know it exists) and is trying to intellectualize it.

This Lauren Conrad was OK on a Family Guy episode though...not great, but...

I agree with dia. Life lessons from a member of the Lucky Zip Code Club? Please. I like the Hills, but just because Lauren is not so obnoxious as Heidi doesn't mean she is a hero. In fact, I argue that if it was NOT for Heidi and Spencer, even less people would care or even like Lauren.

I was wondering why all of the sudden she was getting on my nerves and now I know why. People are worshiping her for having a personality that should be a given for any decent person. Man if we are that hard up for heroes we are screwed. Just because she's nice she's given a designing contract and a book contract on a silver platter while the rest of nice-but-poor people who actually have gone to fashion school and writers classes have to struggle. Man, it's sad.

Words of wisdom from one of the great thinkers of our time.

O and one more thing....actually read the article, the author has some really great points about why Lauren is such a great role model!

I believe if we were all being honest with ourselves we'd all admit to being a lot like Lauren at 24. It's disturbing how quickly we forget how shallow and self-absorbed we once were. We all had crappy boyfriends/girlfriends, partied hard, and did some things we'd rather forget. I mean it'd be nice to do all this with LC's money, but I am not too sure if I would want anyone to know that I had a "Jason" in my life - cuz mine was much worse. All my childish mistakes on camera, no thank you. I don't know she just seems like a perfectly together young woman, whose working hard, and enjoying her life. And you older folks here, are begrudging her youth and mistakes. Shame on you....

Yes, because no one's advice is worth more than that coming from a vapid, privileged girl who whines about all her troubles in life while having that vacant robotic expression on her face.

How illuminating. I guess you gotta give the girl credit for something. Let's not forget she mastered the art of breathing & walking at the same time.
