Capture The Recession

Huffington Post readers around the world are capturing images of the global recession. Every month we'll feature a selection of photographs and allow readers to vote on their favorites.

You see the everyday changes brought on by the global economic slump. How has life changed in your community? What are the indicators that things aren't the same? Feel free to get creative -- with pictures of the secondary effects of the recession.

Submit your photos to our Capture the Recession Flickr group. Once you have a Flickr account (you can register here for free), join the HuffPost's Capture the Recession Flickr group, then add your uploaded photos to the group pool. Please include a caption and location for each photo that you submit.

Take a look at some scenes from the recession we've gathered so far, including some submitted by our readers:

Wonderful idea, HuffPost. We need an equivalent to "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men" to document the stark reality. Maybe the relatively well-off reps on Capitol Hill (with insurance) will take more notice of the aggregate pain.

The photo that got me was the idle railyard after GM stopped shipments. The unexpected always has the most impact.

Good luck. If you do manage to capture it, take it out somewhere and shoot it.

Oh that's rich!

HuffPo wants free photos to use on its websites to show how terrible the economy is!

How about hiring a photographer at minimum wage to do this yourself?
