Think Progress:

In an interview with CNN yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) criticized President Obama's approach to the turmoil in Iran, saying that he shouldn't be concerned about being seen as "meddling" in Iran's affairs. But on Fox News last night, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, noting that he was a McCain supporter, said that he thinks "the president has handled this well":

I'm glad I'm nurturing the belief that Kissinger isn't in the loop and has no idea what he's talking about. otherwise "Doing the right thing in Iran" for Kissinger would likely include:
1) successfully planting full-time survelliance monitors in Ahmadinejad's pants
2) paying the Saudis to manage and train a team of Iraqui and Palestinian commandos to speak Farsi and prepare to take over the Iranian government at any time (pay the Israelis to monitor the Saudis to make sure they do what they are supposed to do with teh commandos)
and
3) replacing dissident leader Mousavi with a plastic surgery altered look-alike spy - ready to take over and do whatever Washington D.C. (and more importantly British Petroleum) wants him to do...

Well, there ya go! When you've got the backing of one of the last mass murderers of the 20th century, you know you are on the right track. Careful Mr. President! If you should pull this off and end up with a Nobel Prize, ol' Hank here might slip in behind ya and accept it. What a supreme dirt bag!

Makes you wonder about Obama's actions if they meet the approval of guys like Kissinger.

Receiving a complement from Kissinger, who should have a cell waiting at The Hague, is NOT a compliment. He prbably still has a direct phone line to the late Shah's coffin.

Kissinger makes Cheney, Rove, 41 and 43 look like mere school playground bullies. He is the guy "making a deal" with the Principal and the whole School Board for rights to milking the playground and those First Graders for string candy and Hannah Montana CD's!

Dang, the Repugs are really dusting off the old farts aren't they? Who will they "revive" next?

He was Nixon's Secretary of State. Can't the right wing Republicans give some credibility to his opinion? Or, will they continue to hate everything Obama? Honestly, I think the Republican strategy is to bore all of us to give up on politics. What a bunch of losers. I can't wait for the elections.

It's so obvious that th current Republican stance is against anything Obama. I know there are a lot of negatives that can be brought up about Kissinger, former SoS for Nixon and Ford, but on the surface at least, he was also known for intelligence and diplomacy....McCain? Neither. Maybe McCain can sing us another verse of "Bomb, Bomb Iran" as he expresses faux concern for the citizens of Iran.

Yeah, you're right . While McCain can only sing "bomb, bomb Iran," Kissinger actually "bombed, bombed, bombed Cambodia!"

Getting the backing of the biggest W@r Cr1m1nal in Washington is not a plus. Not unless you aspire to be as despised as Ch. en. ey and the Ne. 0c. 0ns currently are.

Huh? This is an alliance between most of the Democrats, Ron Paul, and Henry Kissinger.

My brain hurts.

Kissinger sound ssssoooo authoritative. But it was Kissinger and Nixon who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Vietnam. I would not consider his advice reliable.

If you are going to talk nonsense about Vietnam you should read a book written after 1980.

I was behind Obama on his approach to Iran. But now that Kissinger has offered his support for it, I dunno. Obama has a soft spot for warm criminals.

If course war criminals are gonna take a liking to Obama. He's proven to be their friend in the sense that he offers them protection. Pretty soon Cheney will be praising Obama's handling of foreign policy. Wait and see.

All that bragging that McCain had on the campaign trail about his having all the foreign policy experience and about him being the expert BECAUSE he was a POW, is being debunked by his own republican commrades.

McCain hasn't called a SINGLE thing right ............ From Iraq and Afghanistan, to the Somalia pirate episode, to Iran.

I shudder to think where the demonstrators in Iran would have been had the McCain/Palin ticket made it to the White House .................By now McCain/Palin would have inteferred beyond belief, they would have already made numerous threats against the Iran power structure, and they would have been deploying US troops to Iran .................... Like Bush who ALWAYS wanted to invade Iran (9/11 or not), McCain has ALWAYS wanted to BOMB, BOMB, BOMB IRAN (Iranian election fraud or not)

The demonstrators would have already been massacred by the power regime in Iran, and/or by a US invasion, BECAUSE of the McCain/Palin interference.

Even the republicans know this to be true, and that's why they continue to throw McCain under the bus, and to ridicule his so-called foreign policy experience.

As repugnant as Kissinger is, he has a great mind which is more than i can say for the GOP as a whole. The rest of them combined probably do not equal his IQ.

Kissinger a great mind?

Tell that to the thousands of dead Chileans, Panamanians, Vietnamese, Grenadans, Lebanese, Palestinians, U.S. Marines, Canadians, British, Falklanders, Argentines, Colombians, Brazilians, French, Mexicans, Koreans, Russians, Chinese, Indians, Pakistanis, Germans, Egyptians, Australians, Salvadoreans, Guatemalans, Bolivians, Danish, Finns, Irish, Swedish, Spanish, Italians, Yugoslavians, Slovaks, Turkish, Algerian, Africans...

I wonder how this "great mind" sleeps at night with that knowledge...

Let's try to put in jail at least Cheney and Rumsfeld. We cannot do even this.
