Rush Limbaugh Karaoke (VIDEO)

Jimmy Fallon invited three of his audience members on stage last night to sing "Rush Limbaugh Karaoke," which is just like regular karaoke except that it uses the actual words of Rush Limbaugh. It was as oddly beautiful as it was disturbing.

I think the karaoke was a great idea. Hopfully, it will give Slush some idea of how silly his ideas are.

It's a worthy effort to turn Limbaugh's marketing copy on its head for a laugh. Rush profits mightily from playing off our fears.....­And with so much currently in doubt, the country is still trying to come to terms with the "I hope he fails" statement. The fact that his message translates easily to a song anyone can sing helps demonstrate the nursery rhyme level of Rush's marketing approach. There is much worse stuff on the air.... Rush himself, for example.

I caught it live, and thought it was a very brave thing to do. Mr. Limbaugh deserves and needs our scorn, and Mr. Fallon was brave enough to give it to him, in a format that Mr. Limbaugh understands - the public forum.

There is a clever idea here somewhere, but Rush Limbaugh is such a downer, it just doesn't translate to comedy in any way, shape or fashion. Maybe Karioke sports casters.

Maybe forget the whole thing.
