In Paris to promote his latest romantic comedy Whatever Works, the American director told reporters he would love to have Bruni-Sarkozy star in his next film.
When asked what real-life personality he'd cast in an upcoming project, the 73-year-old director replied: "If I could, Carla Bruni. Without a doubt.

His successes came decades ago
Since then, he's produced rubbish.
Yep. His early, funny movies are still worth watching. The "serious" movies are, by and large, juvenile fiction--kind of like being trapped listening to a loop of "The Dangling Conversation". You can easily visualize one of Woody's characters asking a lover, "Can analysis be worthwhile?" Paul Simon grew out of his brief New York man of letters phase, but Woody never did.
Allen consistently makes good films with some excellent and some good. With all the crap around and the shoot'em-ups and explosive films geared to teens, Allen's films are a worrthwile experience for grown-ups.

5. Vicky Christina Barcelona (his latest which is terrifc)
As a man, I'll leave that up to others to guess but as a director, Allen is an American treasure.
Although I like anything Woody, this are my favorites:
1. The Purple Rose of Cairo.
2. Interiors.
3. Radio Days.
4. Bullets Over Broadway.
5. Broadway's Danny Rose.
Isn't she a little old for him?

Woody Allen movies.
Bruni is perfect for the kind of films Allen makes too and she's as beautiful as any of the beauties in Hollywood. Gor for it.
You're right.
Woody's films are always about him, the sexually repressed nebish, who is now in his 70's, lusting after young girls.
The only thing that is funny is how he never got an adult woman to take an interest in him.

And all of the young women in his movies deliver their dialogue in a hesitant, annoying manner and have an unaccountable attraction for old men.
"Sweet and Lowdown" isn't about Woody's sexual escapades or fantasies although it is about him in the sense that he's always been heavily involved in music and especially jazz. I have no problem with his films taking on his persona though because he writes, as all good writers and comics do, and directs from experience.
Get in line Woody.
