Bruno In Amsterdam: A Red Thong For The Red Light District (PHOTOS)

Sacha Baron Cohen brought Bruno to Amsterdam on Friday.

He transformed the city's red light district into a pink light district as part of promotional activities for the Dutch premiere of the movie. He arrived on a jetski in a cropped suit with his red thong showing, climbed to shore and posed with nearly-nude male models.

This follows his Spanish, London and Paris premieres.

Its not funny at all.

He doesn't make me uncomfortable. In fact I liked Borat. But now Cohen's schtick is getting old. How many times can he capitalize on being outrageous. Besides, you want outrageous? Just look in the paper every day. Suicide bombers, drug cartels, murderers, rapists, Nazis, Taliban, Wall Street, credit card companies, health insurance companies, the military industrial complex, racism, sexism, poverty, North Korea, and so on. Tell me, what's so outrageous about Bruno?

Borat, the over-the-top, anything goes personality, was the Cohen original and that's what earned that film so much money -- you went expecting a different kind of humor but not knowing what it was exactly. And some parts were pretty hilarious - the motherinlaw joke was one of a kind.

But now we get it. Bruno is just Borat fast forward a decade or so. I haven't seen the movie but nothing there to do so. Cohen obviously has loads of talent, but will look forward to when he gets away from the extreme comedic schtick and does some true quality acting.
