Showtime Network has been showing Michael Moore's documentary "Sicko" this weekend. I've watched it twice, and it will make you sick to see how badly our healthcare system is broken in comparison to countries that offer universal care. I hope they show it every single day while this debate in Congress continues, and more and more people see the reality of this desperate situation.

There for profit monsters have been feeding off of our illnesses... They have not done ONE SINGLE THING in the last 10 years to keep the increases less than 10% a year....

We don't need to 'Keep these folks honest' we need a public option to FORCE THE FAT OUT OF THAT SYSTEM....We CANNOT AFFORD these for-profit and not for profit monsters....PUT OUT ALL THE TAX INFORMATION for these CEOs and their boards and management...including the Business EXPENSES and see what we can do about that....

Doesn't mean a thing to the Senate. Their job 1 is to enforce "lobby politics as usual." It's all about "campaign contributions", stupid.

I wasn't polled but count me in too. Something has to be done. I really don't know why conservatives are so afraid of giving Health care to the poor and uninsured. All they need to do is ask "What would Jesus do"

they are asking What Would Walmart Do? Walmart is not stupid and neither is Bill Gates and neither one of them care about the HEALTH OF THEIR EMPLOYEES,,,,if they did, they would be for single payer tomorrow......

Take profit out of health care. Stop paying executives huge salaries. Stop insurance administrators from denying health care services.

This article should be sent to everyone in Congress not voting for health care overall without a public option, I think it should be sent to them on a daily basis.

Single Payer NOW.

Sign Bernie Sanders petition.

March in DC on June 25th, or take a sick day in collective protest.

Just Say No to the medical insurers. Stop paying, and send your bills and premiums to OBAMA.

Tell Lindsay Graham HE needs to go away.

I ask every democrat and rethuglican: Did you support the $1.3 Trillion tax cut for the upper 2 % that Bush passed? Did you support the illegal and immoral, unilateral invasion of Iraq based upon lies? Then why don't you support the taxpayers who paid for your folly? You are hypocrites and everyone who doesn't support Single Payer Heathcare should pay at the polls.

Absolutely. It was OK, to give our hard earned dollars to the rich via tax cuts. It was OK to invade Iraq based on lies. It was OK to screw the middle class time and again. But it is NOT OK now. We want a public health care plan.

Arizona vote McCain OUT!!!!

If only we had the money big insurance and big pharma have to buy votes. The majority of Americans want public healthcare, the majority of insurance companies don't. Guess who's winning.

Proof that our "representational government" is not even close to a democracy.

PACs and lobbying make it nothing like a democracy.

If you have health care insurance you are already paying for those that don't have it.

It has been that way since the Reagan admin..

Something like 20% of health care premiums go to paying for indigent care, so yes, those lucky enough to have insurance are already paying for those that don't. Might as well do it efficiently, not the way it's done now.

In that case I would like to see better heatlh care for the folks I helped pay for and I really don't mind helping that but there is a better way and we should take it and make it work.

We are also paying for social problems that are worse because of our rotten health care system:

homelessness
unemployment
domestic abuse
child abuse
education problems
unwanted pregnancy
abortion
POVERTY

Right. not to mention businesses that go under because of the burden of trying to provide overpriced, lousy health insurance for their employees.

During the health care and bank reform debates it will be good to remember

the goal of the other side is free and unfettered access to all the worlds markets and resources.---public interest be damned.

They do not want FREE and Unfettered Access, they want PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT and they have sure been getting it.... Read FREE LUNCH and know that your tax payer dollars are going indirectly into Warren Buffetts and Bill Gates COFFERS.....

Single Payer Now!!!
Why do these stories consistently end up running at the bottom of the page??? Poll after poll is showing public support for either a strong public option or single payer between 60 & 76% (depending on how the question is parsed). The media is cooperating with the for profit health care industry & burying the message...

The story has been up for awhile, thus has floated to the bottom.

HuffPo needs to have a MENU TOPIC of Health Care. They could replace Entertainment which is, um, not very important.

I've been asking for that... so have others;
all the Health Industry ads must be keeping them in check.
just like it does with Congress.
