For the second time in recent years, she's making a strong case for that title by taking her entire staff and their families on vacation. This time they're going on a lavish Mediterranean cruise.

And with her net worth of well over $2B, she'll make the cost of the "trip" back in interest, in what, a day or so. Wow, what charity folks!
alot of other companies make plenty of money, but they don't take their employees on med cruises. you'll be lucky if you get a descent christmas party from most of these other corps. so whatever.
You are so right! Some companies make billions and don't even provide their workers with heath care, so you know CRUISE VACATIONS are out of the question! Oprah is doing a great thing for her employees!

The trip is not intended to be charity. It is a reward for her employees.
The remarkable thing about America is that Oprah was able to rise up from a very humble, poor and disadvantaged background to become successful and wealthy, in turn employing, directly and indirectly, thousands and helping millions. She deserves every penny she earns.
The next remarkable thing is that you, too, can reach the same success if you put your mind to it, instead of bogging yourself down in nasty, bitter negativity.

I wouldn't. That's not a vacation.
Maybe Oprah gives them private vacation time too. Like 4 weeks paid vacation -- still less than what Europeans get. She could afford it.
Oprah's employees are off for 4 months PAID, same amount of time she is off during the summer. I can't believe that O is receiving grief for do something nice for her employees and their families. My friend has worked for Harpo for 6 years; Oprah's staff is paid extremely well and has perks that are unheard of. She has a low turnover rate because she is takes care of her employees……I just don't understand why O gets a bad rap!!!!

Dang, I need to work for Oprah. I'm not even greedy. I'll answer the phones or emails or something.
Now working with and for her would be just about as grand as working at the 'google' home office.
