People on the government's terrorist watch list tried to buy guns nearly 1,000 times in the last five years, and federal authorities cleared the purchases 9 times out of 10 because they had no legal way to stop them, according to a new government report.

Our own Government is so paranoid they put returning soilders from Iraq on the watch list along with anybody who does not agree with there logic, or lack there of. Lets demand all of Congress to be audited and to take a piss test so that we know they are worthy of working for us, then maybe they won't be so afraid of us.
Most governments are afraid of their people, here in the U.S. people are afraid and suspicious of the government!

I would say the kool-aid is that there's a real difference between the parties. Just as long as you donate large sums to both sides, you'll be guaranteed a cut of the action.

I'm always amazed at the antigun whiners that come out of the woodwork at the first mention of guns. The rush to demonize and vilify the NRA, legal gun owners, hunters, collectors, and competition shooters is a joke - shameful even. It's our right to own firearms, guaranteed by the Constitution. You know, the same Constitution that allows people to speak freely and make uneducated, irrational, stupid statements, and continuously make asses out of themselves.

BTW....? i agree with you about taking to the streets after 2000, but if we have a media that doesn't pay attention, what would it have counted. I was part of the hundreds of thousands, if not millions who were part of street demonstrations before the Iraq war began. A lot of good it did. Media ignored us for the most part. Media loves a demonstration in OTHER countries.

The Terrorist watch list is a total scam. Who cares if people who are on it can buy a gun. I've heard that bieng seen at an airport with a copy of Das Kapital is enough to get you put on that list
So what's the problem. Lists are more dangerous than firearms.
I think it's pretty clear judging from the people who have been revealed as being on the list, the reasons that have been used to explain why they got put on the list and how those people are treated, that the "Terrorist Watch List" has some purpose other than watching terrorists. Too bad the mainstream corporate media accepts everything at face value and investigative journalism is dead.
More evidence of how the Cheney/Bush administration protected us since 9/11. No more needs to be said.

This is the same group of people that would keep someone detained at Gitmo indefinitely because they "might" be a terrorist.
Worse than that they want to keep people locked up they know are innocent because after kidnapping them they don't want them released in America so until another country agrees to take these innocent people the solution is just keep them imprisoned.
Some of these "people" we are talking about were children when they were picked up.
If the NRA is talking about integrity you know that it is not credible in any way, shape or means.

The main thing is every American has at least one AK47, high powered rifle and a half dozen hand guns for their own protection. After listening to Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Frank Gaffney and reading some of these blogs it seems apparent that less than half the population is totally house broken.

Unfortunately for your argument, most people who have a gun in their homes end up being shot by it or having it injure or kill someone in the home by accident. Check out the statistics if you don't believe me.
And everyone that has a gun in their homes absolutely believes that it won't happen to them.
