70 % of the people want single payer health care. Yet, the Senate can not find the votes. They must be answering to 30%. We saw what happened when that 30% small minority ran this country, against the will of the people.

America can no longer compete in the global market, and there are two main reasons for that.

1) Our in.sanely bloated military budget. We now spend almost twice as much as the rest of the world combined in our misguided (and imperialist) attempt to "police the world".

2) American businesses suffer when almost 20% of our GDP is spent on for-profit health "care".

President Obama and Congress now have a unique opportunity to set us on a new course.

The question is, do they possess the moral courage to do what's needed?

Saddly, U.S. Senator F. and a few others are not public servants in their behavior and thinking.
If no public option, then the people should demand that medical coverage for POL. should be removed. They should pay the price for health care as the citizens does.

Lovely thought, but most of them would get a "sweetheart deal" from the private insurance companies they (more or less) work for.

How about let's vote them out when they come up for reelection. I personally will not be voting for the current Democratic congressmen/women from Maryland when their term ends. I will vote independent or for the hopefully more progressive Dem that runs against them. They don't want to support the majority of the American people so why should we put them back in office.

I agree that our Congresspersons should pay for their own health care out of their own pockets.

Gee... why does this not surprise me coming from the wife of a defense industry tycoon, head of the intelligence committee (the new gest apo) and the biggest DINO in Washington? You know it's bad when we have despicable people like this AS A DEMOCRAT! Corporate America owns Washington, plain and simple. Kiss your health care dreams good bye with people like THIS in power. Guaranteed.

But they found trillions to fund an useless and unnecessary war, right? This time the people is not going to sit and watch these politicians playing with the health of the country. When 76% of the people want reform, and the majority is willing to pay more taxes in order for everybody to be covered, there are no valid excuses. We are seeing clearly what the politician$ care for. Time for a Third Party.

Senator, of course it wont. Not with people like You, Pelosi, Reid, and other Demorats and Rethuglicans kissing the feet of the corporations. You only ensure that there will never be even basic health care for everyone. But you will ensure that these companies will make more profit than they could ever imagine for doing little to nothing. and for what? to fill your coffers and personal bank accounts with blood money. And its blood money because people will continue to die at your hands for denying them health care, and allowing these companies to determined who gets what care, based solely on cost. Im sure if there is a god, heaven and hell, you and your kind will all be having a great eternity in the depths of hell with all your like thinking friends.

Dear Senator Feinstein,

We FOUND the $TRILLION in SAVINGS we needed!

It seems the Budget Office did their $1 Trillion Short Fall Estimate assuming NO PUBLIC OPTION in their calculations. Amazing!

Insurance Companies charge 1,500% more for Administrative FEES than Medicare, so
there is at least a $Trillion Dollars in Savings with Competition created with the Public Option.

It will be great to help control the SINGLE-PROF1TEER Insurers!

Bless your little "CA" He@rt the Public Option is back in the RUNNING!

Sincerely, The CBO Checker

P.S.:

2.1% Administrative Fees for Medicare
30% Administrative Fees for Insurance Companies

So Insurance Companies charge 15 TIMES or 1,500% more than Medicare, or 27.9% MORE and that is $Trillions!

Actually the "public option" may not save any significant amount of money. Because to get the "public option" we have to keep all the private health insurance companies in the mix.

To save money upfront we need Single Payer.

NO!

Probably the 43 Million on Medicare and 45 Million without insurance will make a massive improvement to begin with!

Also, over time many employers will get tired of the extra 27.9% charged by the Insurance Companies and will either negotiate them down to more like 5% or will chose the Public Option saving Billions upon Billions!

Only competitive Insurance Providers will survive and we will all live together happily ever after!

The only ones who will have to tighten their BELTS is the Insurance Executives and they are way over-we!ght anyway!

Sincerely, The CBO Checker!

Excuse me jmpurser! It has been a long day and my old eyes are tired!
Thanks also to ErnestineBass and StopSexismNow!

Single-Payer is Optimal!

Public Option is a distant second but provides massive improvements over NO PUBLIC OPTION!

I have been saying just this all morning and part of the afternoon!

- I need to rest my old eyes!

Imagine that we already had single-payer and the republicans were going to privatize heathcare citing that free-market competition would drive prices lower and save money for American taxpayers.

That's what we have now...

The only thing preventing nonprofit national health insurance is political will.

It is not the President's job to get the votes to pass this bill in Congress. It's the job of Congress to legislate and prepare bills for the President's signature. There are over 500 of them, and they're supposed to be fighting for us, and what we believe in. They've clearly forgotten that fact. It's so disappointing to see the majority so quick to concede to a minority that has destroyed this country, and has no intention to do anything to make life easier or better for Americans. Senator Feinstein needs to use her seniority to push her colleagues to do their jobs - and not look to the President to do their jobs for them. He has a different job now.

When does this dinosaur sellout come up for re-election in a primary? Maybe 90% of Californians want a public health insurance option and she is going to hold it back? Could the Dems PLEASE give us some leaders for change. This crap is getting very tired, and the lies she peddles while shilling for Big Pharma and Big Insurance are really insulting to our intelligence.

Let's try this again you ancient shill: Why is it that I am not to be given an OPTION to BUY the same health insurance that you and everyone working for congress now enjoy? YOU LIE WHEN YOU SAY THIS WILL COST MORE MONEY; IN ITS VERY DEFINITION IT IS COST NEUTRAL. Look in the mirror Diane and ask yourself exactly who you were sent to the senate to represent. If it's not the voters of California, then resign now and spare us your lobbyist-parrotting lies.
