Senator Feinstein:

If President Obama does not have the votes to pass a comprehensive healthcare reform act, what in tarnation are you doing about it? If he does not have the votes to give to the Americans who elected him and you and your peers in both the Senate and the House of Representatives access to affordable healthcare, why are you sitting and talking about it on some news show?

Why aren't you, and your Democratic peers in the Senate and the House, and the few like-minded, sane Republicans in both Houses of Congress, getting off your collective kiesters, and working the pavement, using the phones, 'twittering' and texting, until he has the votes.

Otherwise, Senator Feinstein, I am compelled to ask the very ugly question: what in the HELL are you doing as an elected official?

You have totally nailed it! This "we don't have the votes" crap is little more than something politicians trot out to cover up the fact that the will of the public is very LAST on their priority list. Otherwise, as you said, they would be working to actually DO something about it instead of going on talk shows insulting our intelligence.

I think the folks of this country may need to take a lesson from the Iranian people on this one. We need to protest our government for the things we want them to do on our behalf and then vote the S.O.B.s out that refuse to represent us. 9 times out of 10 none of our doctors are going to jump ship to work in another country so if that be the case then who in the hell are we trying to protect. Without a healthy population we are doomed. That is the affect on the economy is going to be devastating to say the least. If anyone comes down with a new and deadly disease and we don't catch it until too late then kiss your butt good bye.

Write to them and ask: http://pol.moveon.org/feedback/fb/form.html?tp=suggest

I wrote to them last week asking them to help mobilize a massive calling campaign, which is something they do very well. It would be great if we could all send that message.

I find it amazing that these politicians republican and democrat have the gall to come before the American people and tell us that they're not going to give us what we want. Every poll has shown that at least 70% of Americans want a public option and we're willing to pay for it, yet they're okay with saying it's not going to happen.

They act like there's some unmanageable obstacle that is preventing them from passing a public option bill when the only obstacles are their greed, weakness and debt to the lobbyists.

Well Congresswoman, it is the people of this nation that pay, and pay and wait and wait and we've been waiting for a generation (at least) for you sorry bunch of do-nothings to act. As I see it we have no choice but to fire each and every one of you in 2010. I don't care whose party or what their record may be, enough is enough. The rich and powerful have created at nice little system of checks-in-pockets and all of you deserve to be "let go." Lives are ruined, people are dying and all you do is manufacture endless reasons why nothing can be done, yet somehow most of the rest of the industrialized world has figured this out. Here is an idea. RESIGN!

We have over five hundred posts on this blog, I hope as many emails/calls have been sent to the parties that need to hear our concerns/demands.

The following senators are on the committee that will determine if we have a public option in the health bill they produce for the president. The democrats are buckling under pressure from the lobbyist to present a bill without a public option. This means those without insurance will continue not to have insurance.

Harry Reid,

The scheming, lying republicans found enough money to go to war in two countries, rebuild those two countries, one of the countries was supposed to pay for the war--still waiting Iraq--and now they give us some crap about health care reform. It is time for the congress to lose their coverage until there is a universal health care system we can all afford.

Republican chicken hawks would rather to to war than pay for health care here at home. They did nothing for 8 very long years so why do you think they would do something now? They are not. I am really losing what little patience I have with these liars. It is time for the media to stop giving them a voice and stop them from saying things they called unpatriotic during the GWBush years.

Dianne and the rest of the Democrats had better find some cajones really soon or they are going to be in deep trouble.

Uh, the dems don't even support healthcare in the senate.

There are 15 dems opposed

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:51 PM on 06/21/2009

What are you talking about? First, in case you haven't noticed, the Dems control the House, Senate and the White House. Second, only 50 votes would actually be needed to pass real reform of health care, contrary to Fox News you've been watching. Republican votes aren't even needed to pass this, and yet dems are coming out saying they don't have the votes. I think you're using all your energy to stay mad at the last eight years while the new party in power snowballs you because you aren't holding their feet to the fire. Get with the program!

No wonder they keep losing on every issue. Dems are toooooooooooooo weak and bunch of cowards. Next time, they deserve to lose seats. If this was a Republicans' case, they would have passed the bill. I am frustrated with these lazy Dems. Go away right now.

It seems as if those who lean towards the right, from both parties, don't want those of us who have no health care coverage to have access to this coverage, unless it will profit their pals in the insurance industry. Interesting how, those who are elected to carry out the wishes of those who voted for them, don't care what their constituents want or need, even after massive lay offs and thousands of new homeless, unemployed. WOW, but then again, what's new? Very sad.

The sad thing is that Obama still has to rely on a bunch of useless and feckless democrats in Congress who should resign their seats and make way for new blood. There's much to be said for term limits. Most of these seat warmers are part of the problem anyway.
