My whole family saw it this last weekend...it was suprisingly funny. I didn't expect much because while I love Bullock... a lot of her movies as a whole fall flat even when I enjoy her performance...but in this one she was wonderfully supported with good directing and really great actors like Ryan and Betty and we all laughed many times during the movie.
First time a formula comedy has made me laugh that much in years...

That certainly was a mean spirited headline.

Sandra is a great person. She does so much for charity. However, I don't think she is a good actress. She seems to be the same characther in every movie. I really wish she was a good actree, because I like her so much.

This pleases me immensely because most of the articles on / reviews of this movie have made sure to reference how "old" she is [45] and how that will likely hinder this movie's success. Hollywood needs to re-think their ageism 'cos someone fun to watch in a fun to watch movie will always bring some money in -- it may be the Summer, but people besides teenage boys do go to the theaters!

I thought it was very entertaining. You don't go into this kind of movie expecting to be surprised or to have your mind expanded or your paradigms challenged. It was cute and funny and had much better acting than many of these romantic comedies. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds had good chemistry and made the shift in their relationship make some sense when it otherwise might have been ridiculous. Betty White was funny. It was a quality piece of mind candy that I would watch again in the future. Even my dad and my brother liked it.

BTW -- Bullock and Reynolds BOTH get naked.

You're OH so wrong! A delight and Betty White should, but probably will not, receive Best Supporting. That is one sharp, dear and funny lady. Bullock & Reynolds click.

I love Sandra Bullock and thought she was one dimensional at first until I saw her in Crash. She was great in that movie. Happy for her.

Saw it over the weekend and was ridiculously disappointed. It's easy to see WHY it was #1 - the trailer was great, but the movie did not live up to the trailer. Lots of really unnecessary moments that were supposed to be funny.

However, I have now been exposed to Ryan Reynolds who is absolutely amazing to look at!
Regardless of the disappointment of this movie, I will continue to support whatever Sandra Bullock is in. Loved her since day one.

Sandra Bullock is one of those actresses who can make me go see a movie just because she is in it. I respect her work, but I would like to see her try harder to stretch her screen persona.

Sandra Bullock is an amazing human being and actress. She speaks fluent, flawless German and was raised in a very cultured environment. Her mother was an opera singer, and the family spent a ot of time in Europe. Sandra is not just the girl next door. Regarding her career, I do wish she would get rid of the comedies - she has done enough of them - and focus on dramatic acting. She was so awesome in Crash and should have been nominated for an Oscar. Two other favorites of mine are Infamous and Murder by Numbers. I'm glad she is back on top. She should be.

I agree that she should continue in more dramatic roles. I haven't seen Murder By Numbers but she was fantastic in smaller roles in Crash and Infamous (and A Time To Kill).
