Ahmadinejad Breaks His Silence: Doesn't Want To Be The "Guy Who Got His Ass Kicked By Twitter" (VIDEO)

I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

HuffPost Comedy favorite Andy Cobb is back, and this time he's taking on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Thankfully, not about his sex life, but about his cruel and deadly oppression of the Iranian people.

As Cobb says on his YouTube page:

"It turns out, in Farsi 'Twitter' means 'ex-dictator.' Mousavi's on there, and on Facebook. He never responds to my Superpokes, but it's kind of cool, check it out. But beware: in volatile times we should avoid Facebook gestures that might be interpreted as hostile acts...please, no 'Mafia Wars' challenges or throwing sheep. It will be delicate, the digital rapprochement of our peoples.

It's easy to overestimate the influence of all things Twitter/Facebook/Youtube on events in Iran, of course the battle is being fought on the streets by real people, not by icons and avatars...But if you haven't checked [Twitter's coverage] out, you're missing out on chilling real-time documentation of ground-shaking events."

Even funnier is Obama's first response, followed by focus group, second response, followed by focus group, and third response, followed by what most said he should have responded with as a no brainer the first time. If he was half as tough on Iran as he is Israel and the US, people might think he's a strong leader. But...NOT.

It's actually pretty important for what's going on there for it to *not* be blameable on U.S. instigation, actually, this is a people's protest, over there.

Exactly. I mean, every single time America got involved in Iran, it not only blew up in our faces, but also threw Iran's government back at least ten years. Every reliable expert on the matter agrees that America supporting either side will pretty much cause Iranian public opinion to turn against that side immediately because for some CRAZY reason, the Iranians are afraid that America might hijack their government again.

In this case, the strongest thing that America can do is sit out of it and say as little as possible until its calmed down a bit.

vshdst:
We have lots of room for talk. Read a little history.
Sorry we are not perfect---but name a country that is closer than the US? History full of discrimination---remember Spain in 1492? Or Brits in India (or women in Saudi Arabia?) Slavery---how about Asia and Africa now? Jim Crow---"No dogs or Irish admitted" (versus the Potato Famine). Slaughter of native Americans and slaughter in Rwanda by competing tribes. Internment of Japanese and German-led murders of Jews, Gypsies, gays---and the condemnation of all by our "friend" the Saudis. Lynching in America, in Britain, in France, in Spain and elsewhere under other names.
So give us a better place that is heterogeneous, has a myriad of religious beliefs (when what the last execution of a Wiccan?).
Get off your high horses and remember that with our imperfections (and there are many) at least you can writer and speak without being stoned to death..

America has little room to talk with her history full of discrimination, slavery, jim crow, slaughter of native american, internment of japanese, lynching, etc.

and even with all of that, there is STILL more tolerance here than there.

and this from an African American.

You hate Cubans, Mexicans, Asian, Muslims, France, North Korea, China, Palestine or Israel (not sure anymore). You can't stand the Saudis, you just don't get Iranians even when you try. You've got a bone to pick with Russia. Heck, you don't even like your own politicians, business leaders (can't say that I blame you on that one), New Orleans left out in the cold. I'm trying to figure out what you mean by tolerance but I like your spirit. Maybe you're the one with the right idea, turn a blind eye to the hate, just plain ignore it.

Nice, we're all shithole countries now. Don't come knocking on our door looking for an electrical outlet for your air conditioner when it's 140 outside. Yours truly, Love Canada.

Meh, I've seen too many not especially villanous people commit organized evil in the name of economic and social policies to think that its the domain of just religion -- IMO, all of those are just symptoms of the overlying problem, which is the willingness to subvert ones' own ideals for the ideals of another, or for sheer convenience.

There seems to be no limit to the number of bad apples in Iran.

It will be interesting to see how all of this shakes out when the history of this period is ultimately written.

Hey, twitter may get Iran's Pres Achmedadjett, whatever a few more paragraphs or pages in history books if he's the 1st person that twitter helps depose. It's a matter of good vs bad news. Maybe a PR type can explain it to Pres Ach... or maybe not.

The clerics appear to be splitting over this. Some of them are coming out in favor of new elections.
