Andrew Young Book: John Edwards "Baby Daddy" To Tell All

Another player in the John Edwards love child drama is speaking out, telling editors he feels betrayed by the once-friendly Edwards family. Campaign worker Andrew Young who claimed to be the father of Rielle Hunter's child and was paid to take her into his home for eight months is shopping a tell-all book proposal dishing about the sex scandal.

Elizabeth Edwards' memoir may not be the only book John Edwards has to worry about. Last week, Andrew Young, a lifelong friend of Edwards and a longtime aide, began shopping a book to New York publishers; according to his proposal, represented by David McCormick at McCormick Williams, the book would chronicle the tale of his long friendship with the Edwards family, his attempt to help Edwards by taking a pregnant Rielle Hunter into his home to live with him and his wife, Cheri, and their three children, and the fallout when the press (and Elizabeth Edwards) caught wind of the plan.

At this point, the only interesting angle on this story is why Lisa Druck aka Rielle Hunter hasn't demanded a paternity test yet.

Almost always, the answer to life's deepest questions is: follow the money.

My guess is that Elizabeth doesn't want the paternity test - especially while she's still alive, where it would just add insult to injury. So to keep the woman quiet, I'm guessing there's a promise of a BIG payday down the road if she keeps her mouth shut and doesn't demand that paternity test from Edwards.

So the baby doesn't have a father. Who cares? As long as all the adult narcissists in this little soap opera get what they want, it's all good.

What have you got against Miss Hunter, anyway? It seems to me she's the only one who has maintained any dignity, after the fact. She's been quiet, raised her child, & not inflicted the threat of a book or even an interview upon us. Granted, she did an amazingly sleazeball thing, but she wasn't married at the time. He was, & therefore, I don't see the need to heap further abusiveness upon her. She may be awful, but merciful god, she hasn't been on every tv interview to prove it.

What a pathetic group! John Edwards is worried about John Edwards. Rielle Hunter and Andrew Young are worried about money. None of them are worried about their wives or children.

You are 100% right about "follow the money" being the key to the truth. I bet Edwards hasn't paid a cent because 1.) his wife probably controls the money so he couldn't and 2.) his ego wouldn't let him pay. Hunter is still getting money from someone - won't it be interesting when that person is exposed. Young stopped getting money (too bad Fred Baron passed away and cut off the gravy train) so he's ticked and selling his story. Neither Hunter nor Young seem to work for a living!

Doesn't Young realize how bad he'll look? Not only does he have a history of forgery and burglary which aren't insignificant but he was willing to go through with the cover up for cash. Yeah, nice guy!

I USED to feel sorry for Elizabeth Edwards - that's until she admitted knowing about the affair and possible love child during the primaries. Had John won the nomination this nation would have been looking at President McCain and Vice President Sarah Palin.

According to Hunter's website: "I've come to realize through a lot of experience that men are in fact good for a couple of things. Three things to be specific. Penetration, moving heavy objects and causing enlightenment."

She's obviously not enlightened and she can't have too many heavy objects to move so we know what she uses men for!

She also admits McInerney's book based on her is accurate and in it: "In one scene, Poole scams $1,000 from a Wall Street type with whom she had an affair -- who gave her a sexually transmitted disease -- by claiming she is pregnant by him and needs money for an abortion. Later, Poole falls in love with a commodities trader with a thing for Shakespeare, but ultimately they betray each other."

Scamming a wealthy man out of money and betraying a man she "loves" - sounds familiar. Someone should have given Edwards a copy of the book before he banged her so he'd know what sort of cooze he was getting involved with.

At least all the rest of the men on the face of the earth are warned and can run from her. (Guess she won't have much of a chance to practice the first of her preferred uses of men.)

I am not interested in what Edwards has to say. Just imagine if he had won the Primaries and became to democratic nominee for president; only to have the scandal break. I don't think people understand the damage he would have done to the Democratic Party and this country. John McCain and Sarah Palin would be President and Vice President respectively. I'm not sure where I really fit politically - maybe I'm a dreaded 'bluedog' ... but I always felt that Edwards was the guy looking out for the less fortunate. With this sorry episode, as well as other things that have come out, I've changed my view of him and that is sad -- and it is especially for the constituency he was so focused on supporting.

I'd add to that that he can't think on his feet. Everytime I look at him I think of the awful job he did when debating Cheney. He was amateurish and didnt stand up for what he had been supposedly championing.
