Michael Miller

A disturbing story out of Arizona: a 29-year-old man has told police that he sang Eminem songs while fatally stabbing his wife and daughter, KSAZ-TV reports. His 4-year-old son survived the attack, despite being stabbed 11 times. According to police, the man, Michael Miller, said he was possessed and believed that his wife was a demon.

More chilling details:

Just before stabbing her at 4 a.m., he told police he started screaming lyrics from an Eminem song, saying, "Here comes Satan, I'm the anti-Christ, I'm going to kill you."

Miller admitted to police that when the kids awoke to their mother's screams, he stabbed them too. He said he stabbed his son Brian the most because he loved him the most.

Then he rolled a cigarette, said another prayer, and called 911, police say.

Hear part of the 911 call:

So now should Eminem be held liable for this mur.d.er? According to the popular opinion around here he should be just like you want Bill O to be liable for Dr. Tillers'. Or do you only get in trouble for that when you are a repub? huh, funny how that works.

Bill O was culpable. He egged on and on for it to happen with very thinly veiled suggestions the doctor should be taken care of.
I seriously doubt Mathers is a dem. He is deeply racist, homophobic and sexist. Those are the plank of the Republican Party.
Someone using someone's song while they murder is hardly the artists fault.
And this comes from someone who hate's "Vanilla Ice: the sequel"

Your example is so far off base, it isn't even in the same sport, let alone ballpark.

Show me where Em repeatedly, for years, personally named and shamed this man's family members and singled them out for ridicule and vilification on a nightly television program like O'Really did with Dr. Tiller, and then you'll at least make it to the stadium parking lot.

I am tossing my hat in with AnotherNewDawn on this one. Your example is tremendously skewed in favor of an individual who used a political platform to verbally assault a single individual repeatedly. For Eminem to be responsible for these actions he would have had to say something to the effect, "Mr. Miller, kill your family" and even then culpability is questionable because we are talking about a grown adult just mindlessly following the advice of. Short of holding the knife himself, there is nothing here that would indicate Eminem of any wrongdoing...aside from terrible music (sorry, had to get that in there).
This is an argument about two different lunatics. One froths at the mouth speaks of religious damnation and spiritual bogeymen destroying life, the other just killed his family. Society, for the most part, recognizes that this is a ploy by Mr. Miller, or his lawyer, to try and play the odds on a very, very long shot.

More faux journalism by FOX. Maybe they should do a story on how BUSH killed over 100,000 while being president of the USA.

Sure, because we all know that traditional Christians are generally really into Eminem.

I'm glad he wasn't singing "Whistle While You Work". Walt Disney would be getting trashed.

Why is it that parents killing their children stories do not generate mass hysteria?

Because gang stalker groups can not shake people down for protection money to poison parents.

They can only generate hysteria about people who are different and not like them.

I don't believe Eminem should even be a part of this story. There's no way to spin and sensationalize such a senseless act.

Truthfully, I agree. Everybody is responsible for their OWN actions.

However, YOU folks on THIS blog are the same people who blamed Bill OReilly for that last-trimester abortion doctor getting murdered. Therefore, no double-standard. If you are going to falsely blame OReilly, then begin falsely blaming Eminem.

Again, your false parallel is so far off base, it isn't even in the same sport, let alone ballpark.

Show me where Em repeatedly, for years, personally named and shamed this man's family members and singled them out for ridicule and vilification on a nightly television program like O'Really did with Dr. Tiller, and then you'll at least make it to the stadium parking lot.

What is wrong with you people? Are you really that clueless?

Look, I am no fan of religion, but how is the knee-jerk reaction of blaming religion for this any different than the knee-jerk reaction by the media to somehow connect Eminem to it? While I fully understand that religion certainly had an impact on this man's actions, to immediately place all blame on any one factor is incorrect. It's obvious that this man has some serious mental health issues and until there is further information I refuse to attribute any of this to any one convenient scapegoat, be it religion or music.

Let's not forget that there are millions of religious people in this country and the vast majority are good and decent people. This was not a case like the Tiller murder, where there was not-so-subtle approval of the horrible actions of a "culture warrior," lets try and keep that in mind.

Peace

If this had happened in the middle east it would be all over the media used as a tool to discuss how Muslims are horrific and extremist.

It happens here with a Christian and we just call him crazy and brush it off.

This man believed his wife was possessed by a demon. That is mentally ill.

But it is no more mentally ill than believing Jesus is going to come back from the dead and raise you to heaven if you bend to his will. These tend to be the same individuals rallying around far right politicians and creaming things like "kill the nig.ger" at Palin rally's.

Stop being an apologist for this kind of sickness. Religion is bad. Period. And Christians extremists are just as horrifying as Muslim extremists. The only difference that causes more violence from the Muslim side is the balance of power. If the scales tipped, and we were the oppressee instead of oppressor, it would be Christians blowing themselves up in crowded squares.

Fox News was behind Tiller's and the Holocaust Museum shootings.

Eminem is behind this: condemn his "artistry."
