Ryan O'Neal And Farrah Fawcett To Marry

NEW YORK — Ryan O'Neal says he plans to marry Farrah Fawcett, who is struggling to overcome cancer. The 68-year-old actor says in an interview with Barbara Walters for ABC's "20/20" that he asked his longtime companion to marry him and "she's agreed." O'Neal says they will tie the knot "as soon as she can say yes."

Walters' interview with O'Neal airs Friday.

Fawcett was diagnosed in 2006 with anal cancer that has spread to her liver. The "Charlie's Angels" star and O'Neal have a 24-year-old son, Redmond.

O'Neal says the 62-year-old actress is "fighting for her life," but despite her declining health, they will "absolutely" get married.

SSI for who? There are no children under 18 and I doubt she's collected Social Security although she beginning this year she could have claimed Lee Majors' Social Security BUT that passes to no one.
I do believe her estate may be entitled to a whopping $250 social security death benefit though. WOW she probably spent more than that on a bottle of wine.

They stayed togather all these years which a marriage in a church or a certificate didn't make happen.
I know lot's of conflicted married people and religeous folks who barely tollerate one another but do so for the kids or for their church.

But he's had issues with drugs and alcohol, which means he's a partier!!! Which means she was too!!! Which means they knew how to laugh and have fun together, which is the glue that makes a relationship really work/

I know what just you mean. On the surface, it all sounds very poignant and romantic BUT, realistically, there is something very unseemly about it all. Poor Farrah has been on a morphine drip for the past few weeks. I hope no judge/prie­st/rabbi/w­hatever will abide by this.

I think that he has found and professed unconditional love for her. Perhaps just rekindled what he had before. He has had hard times with drugs and booze. Maybe he is finally clean and capable of having a mature, adult relationship. He has been in her corner 100%. To get that "feeling" again at a more advanced age is a wonderful thing...I can speak from experience, and perhaps that is what is blinding me to all this negative bullsh*T...
