Ensign

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) apologized to his Republican colleagues at Tuesday's weekly conference lunch, his first meeting with them since the sex scandal that cost him his leadership position. The short speech earned Ensign a round of applause, according to Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who was at the meeting.

"I think he plans to be a very good senator from Nevada," Corker said. "All I can say for sure is that it was very, very sincere, very heartfelt and very well received in our caucus. I just appreciate the way he was today, and I think everybody in our caucus does."

There were no tears from Ensign, Corker said, but "he was obviously somber and serious. And this was not a flippant thing that he did." Though Ensign didn't take any questions from GOP colleagues, Corker said, "He answered the questions I had. Today he did what he needed to do with us."

"We all recognized what a painful experience this has been for not just his family, but for all those involved," Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said. "We appreciated him saying how sorry he was."

Ensign did not go into much detail regarding reaction in his home state, Corker said, adding that he had little interest in those particulars.

"I don't follow it blow by blow, obviously," Corker said. "I'm not from Nevada."

I'm SOOOOOOO surprised that the Nincompoop Anti-Intellectual Party believes that he's sincere and wants to be a good senator from now on. After all, it's the party of Family Christian Values, right?? And they might lose another seat.

Sounds like the people from Nevada owe it to the rest of the country to get rid of him. Only you can get him out.

"I think he plans to be a very good senator from Nevada"

After all this time in the Senate and only now he plans to be a good senator - what was he before?? Oh yeah, a do nothing who voted the party line.
He never was any good for this state and never will be.

Well, one things for sure. He can't bang the drum of social righteousness any more. (All irony aside) That was pretty much his full time gig.

Do something about him then. Get rid of him. E-mail him. Call him. Get up off your butt and get him out of the senate.

Tampa: GOP leader, WWF star, Brian Blair, who was elected to county commission on his Family Values and GOD First Platfrom, was arrested Sunday (Father's Day) at his residence for CHILD ABUSE on his young children! MORE CHRISTIAN REPUBLICAN Politicians being revealed

You know, there is a dream party in the making: Newtie, Ensign, Vitter, Palin, Larry Craig and a few others. They might hold a joint press conference to promote the sanctity of marriage and to promote family values. Oh! And also to promote abstinence only. The Dixiecrat party is really in good hands.

Wonder if he got a standing ovation like Vitter did? Or maybe the Standing Ovation by the GOP only applies to cheating on your wife with hookers?

I wonder if he carries BENGAY with him. Poor Larry Craig didn't. Remember when he said, "I never have BENGAY"? He must really be sore.

Republicans would clap at something like that, but they wanted Bill Clinton's head on a platter when the whole Lewinsky thing came up.

Talk about hypocrisy!!!
