WASHINGTON -- Documents gathered by lawyers for the families of Sept. 11 victims provide new evidence of extensive financial support for Al Qaeda and other extremist groups by members of the Saudi royal family, but the material may never find its way into court because of legal and diplomatic obstacles.

And none were Iraqis yet we were sold the idea that Sadam had something to do with 9/11. So where's Cheney's view on the Saudi Royal family we knew Osama family are huge contractors for the Saudi Kingdom.

FTA:

Saudi lawyers and supporters say that the links are flimsy and exploit stereotypes about terrorism, and that the country is being sued because it has deep pockets and was home to 15 of the 19 hijackers.

Nope, no extremists here. Move along.

Of course. And let's ignore them being the world capital of Wahhabism.

This story from the NY Times is downright irresponsible nonsense. I picked it apart on my blog here: http://newiranianrevolution.blogspot.com/2009/06/saudi-ties-to-terrorism.html

The NYT also reported Saddam's links to 9/11..... Hard to take any of that seriously any longer!

This article from the NY Times is a joke. It's sensationalist, inaccurate, nonsense. I've picked it apart thoroughly on my blog: http://newiranianrevolution.blogspot.com/2009/06/saudi-ties-to-terrorism.html

Would this be an example of one of those "frivolous" lawsuits RightWingers continuously blather about?

It seems that they are seeking a deep pocket, but if we look closely, we may find that the pocket in question is our own.

Our invasion of Afghanistan was supported by the world—in spite of the fact that Bin Laden, the Mujahadeen and the Taliban were all a product of a cooperative effort of the US, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, to undermine the Soviet incursion into Afghanistan and to establish law and order after their departure.

In some respects, Bin Laden, working in concert with the Mujahadeen, was a hero, not only to Afghanistan, but also to certain Muslim and US interests. However, the Saudis stripped Bin Laden of his Saudi citizenship due to his disruptive involvements some time following Desert Storm.

The Taliban were graduates and students of ultra conservative regional religious schools with large Pashtun involvement; and credited with establishing order in Kabul after the Russians left. They weren’t afraid of bringing their own form of justice to an essentially lawless land; and consequently, were supported by the US, Saudis and the Pakistanis—none of whom wanted the job of sheriff in that area.

Bin Laden's association with Egyptian exiles came to infamy, after 911, as did Alqaeda. That is when we left the collective and refused politically unacceptable offers from the Taliban to apply their own justice. Inquiry into pre 911 funding in the region may yield a new term for us to chew on: “economic blowback.” Some doors may be better left unopened.

The Bush Crime Family protects it's own.

As reported in "House of Bush, House of Saud", the Saudi Royal Family gave the Bush family $1,000,000,000 (yes, a Billion dollars) prior to 9/11, and the Bin Laden family gave the Bush family $500,000,000 the day OF 9/11.

Like Al Capone said, a good politician is one who SAYS bought... and the Bush Crime Family definitely stays bought. Now that GWB is out of office, expect to see a lot more information on how he spent eight years protecting Arabia.

They didn't call GWB "The Arabian Candidate" for nothing!

My guess is that 50 years from now kids reading history books will NOT read that:

On 9-11 fifteen SAUDI hijackers rammed two airplanes into the WTC buildings

On 9/12 George W. Bush whisked Osama bin Ladin's family members out of the country

GWB then invaded and occupied Iraq,a country that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with 9/11.

and GWB "held hands" with the leader of Saudi Arabia, telling him what a "great ally" he is.

And yet what we read on Huffpo, post after post, is trolls complaining about Obama "apologizing" for this or that.

!5 of the 19 9/11 crew were Saudis.
Amazing that this fact seemed to escape the pundits and commentators that inhabit the

I miss journalism.

Any historian who studies the heretical cult of Wahhabism knows that the leading proponent of this violent, deliberate distortion of the Holy Quran is *Saudi Arabia.* The House of Saud has used their oil wealth for decades to promote Wahhabism and try and spread this violent heresy to the broader Muslim world.

Wahhabism has roots in both the Middle East and Afghanistan going back centuries. Its proponents have risen up repeatedly from time to time to engage in violent, authoritarian aggression and repression of anyone they can overthrow with the sword and the gun, claiming the Holy Quran justifies their bloody deeds, when in fact it specifically does not.

Wahhabists are no different from any destructive cult that claims God's sanction for violent criminal behavior.

Anyone who wishes to educate themselves on the violent cult of Wahhabism needs to acquire a copy of Charles Allen's GOD'S TERRORISTS, THE WAHHABI CULT AND THE HIDDEN ROOTS OF MODERN JIHAD.

The Wahhabists are the enemies of everything good and decent in human civilization, be it Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or anything else that human beings have accomplished in the entirety of our collective history.
