drones are just like lil fun video games back at the base. Except when you lose the game you needlesly murder 60 people. Pretty simple concept.. Probably a horrible idea, but probably horribly fun for who ever flies that thing around. haha

Since Janet Napolitnano is doing nothing to secure the U.S. borders, her staff could create websites in Pakistan to arrange funerals and weddings. She can feed the coordinates to Nevada and then we have an instant list for continual bombing. We're bound to hit at least one or two Tali guys.

Obama during his campaign clearly indicated that the fight in Central Asia will be amped up.
Those in the yellow brigade obviously heard something else.
This is one campaign promise he's actually delivering on.

Yes, it is no fun. But unfortunately this war is very necessary.

Watch the 60 minutes piece on these drones and you'll conclude that if this was one of our birds, and guided by our people, then we intended to kill everybody we killed.

The optics are that good ... check it out.

If I remember correctly, the public relations officer stated emphatically on 60 minutes that they don't make mistakes with drone strikes.

Obviously, the drone operators, sitting comfortably in their air-conditioned offices with joystick controls, are so detached from the harsh reality of their direct actions that they experience little emotion while blowing away innocent people. They watch it all play out on a monitor, as if they are simply playing a video game. Therefore, they are less likely to hesitate and think before they "pull the trigger," consequentially initiating a scene of death and destruction -- basically pure, unadulterated carnage. Welcome to the technological age of 21st-century warfare!

READ THE ARTICLE YOU FU*KING MORONS! They were Taliban members, at a funeral for a Taliban leader who has been waging war against the Paksitan government. They are the Taliban whose wish is to get their hands on Pakistan's nuclear weapons. These are the Taliban who have also been targetting, and killing US soldiers in Afghanistan, and helping AlQueada!

When Bush was Pres, - and for that matter, under Clinton - at whom were all those rockets aimed at?

There's no coherent US policy. Will the USA and allies fight to destroy Fascism and fascist governments or not?

We are not at war with Pakistan. Others have this correct. Obama's Cambodia.

Yes! Killing these a**holes is a good thing. I don't understand what people are wringing their hands over. Do you want the Taliban to gain more power in the region, or what?

Remember early on in the Iraq insurgency when they would set bombs and kill each other, Sunni vs Shiite and then they would set off bombs at funerals killing even more? And how awful, barbaric and brutal we thought it was to attack mourners at funerals? And now Obama is ordering bombings at funerals and the Democrats support it!

Obama will not get my vote next election. Killing foreigners for no good reason is unforgivable from any president!

I also do not like how the MSM is covering this up by not reporting. No transparency here.

Drone "said" to be responsible. Lets wait to get the facts first. Besides, Im sure the attendees at the Taliban fighters funeral were all swell chaps.

So, a tribal leader who was coming over to fight on OUR side

is assassinated by THEIR side,

and we send a missile to the funeral??

I think flowers and/or a card woulda been a better choice...

Is this the "Change You Can Believe In" that Obama promised?
Bombing a funeral?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:11 AM on 06/24/2009

There's nothing special about a funeral, other than being a great place to find associates of the recently dead. Since the recently dead was a lovely bloke, chances are that many of the mourners will also not be sadly missed.

Whether it was the right decision in terms of winning hearts-and-minds is of course debatable.

Wars, especially this type of war, cannot be won by dropping bombs.
People feel good about killing so long as someone else labels them evil.
So Taliban=death sentance=ok to kill on sight along with anyone near..
It used to be commies...until they became our bankers.
I would think anyone at that place who was not an enemy of the USA, is now.
Who would dare speak in favor of the USA ?
A robot killing people at a wedding or funeral is nothing more than terorism.
It would be different if the things were used in battle.
The population is brainwashed. We slaughter strangers because being Taliban/ evil, they deserved it. Who would argue? The population has no clue. We only know what we are told.
Aparently, just like the CIA.
For all the fear of them, we've had our own Taliban running things here. We have a larger percentage of our population in prison than any other country on Earth. We even have prisons for profit.
This is a waste of money and political capital.
OH, but the lives of the innocent? Guilty by association
Some people just don't matter.
We are creating enemies where we used to recruit allies against the US

.

Last word last line was written USSR not US...the big gap is a mistake too. This machine has problems and a giant time lag.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:15 AM on 06/24/2009

No lag. Real time control. The only delay is the time for the bomb to fall/missile to fly from the drone to the target.
