Facebook Movie

people.com:

Facebook, the social networking giant, is hitting the big screen -- but it's not the story of some young Americans' drunken escapades. The proposed film, tentatively titled The Social Network, adapts Ben Mezrich's new book, The Accidental Billionaires, which documents the Web site's founding by Harvard students in 2004.

Glass-Steagall Act
A 1933 act that prohibited commercial banks from undertaking investment banking activities such as underwriting the securities of private corporations. The legislation was passed to keep banks from entering into nonfinancial businesses (for example, owning corporate stock) and more risky activities. The Glass-Steagall Act was repealed in 1999. Also called Banking Act of 1933.

Bomb. I am so sick of those three non-actors. They are in everything. How about hiring a real actor with some talent?

This may become one of the most boring films of all time.

I can't possibly fathom how this would be a good movie, but if Aaron Sorkin is behind it then apparently they've got something

Ew!

TO be honest: Facebook isn't really inventive. There are plenty of social sites like MySpace, Hi5, WAYN, Asian Avenue, Black Planet etc etc. According to TenThings, it's just accidental. Some billionaire worked hard like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. But other billionaires are just fancy gamblers who got lucky.

I so much prefer Facebook the horribly self-indulgent "it's about me" sites like MySpace (relatively speaking, of course). I don't have time to download peoples' wallpaper and favorite tune of the moment. F--k that!

like you said, it's all relative. i feel that facebook is extremely indulgent.

I hope they talk about how Zuckerberg wasn't the "creative genius" behind it but rather STOLE the idea.

I would love to see that too.
