Below are excerpts of e-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The State has removed the woman's full name and other personal details, including her address, e-mail address and children's names.

As usual it's not the man's frailties that is appalling, but his stupidity.
Now that he has totally humiliated himself before the world, perhaps he will be reborn with humbleness instead of arrogance when judging others.

I think if he resigns, it will be for the sake of his marriage. Although, I'm sure it's over. Why would a woman stay with a man who is obviously in love with another woman. Other than that I don't think he should resign. As a person, he didn't fail. he's human, vulnerable, and obviously a romantic. Nothing wrong with that. His real shame is his upbringing. He was taught that he was better and had the right to stand in judgement and authority of other people. I coiuld say God does not like ugly, but why bother, Mark already knows it. As for the rest of us it's none of our business. Ask Bill and Hillary. They have both continued their marriage and seemingly gotten over it (or so we think). Let's be real people, Live Love Laugh, it's the only way to get through this nightmare called life.
People like Sanford think they can go to confession and zap themselves back into perfection, ready to enter heaven. Any crime is forgivable, as long as they tell themselves that they think god forgives them.
It is pretty scary when all information can be retrieved back.So who did his retrieving?
What is it with the republicans lately and not keeping it zipped up. Is there something in their drinking water or something. Their stepford wives should start kicking some A$$ seriously! They are spending more time having to do damage control than I have ever seen before. At least their wives aren't appearing next to them anymore looking hit by a truck. I'd say good for them.
The paper received thee-mails 5 months ago, about the same time his WIFE found out.....I'm not saying...I'm guessing....

Why? There is some wonderful love poetry in the Bible. Try the Song of Songs. I am surprised it made it past the censors, but it is there.
All politics aside, I can tell you that in my salad days I would have killed to have such emails of love written to me.

So sad for his family, but he made his bed. It seems all GOP Guvs have issues and problems.
Check this link out....an ongoing issue in Anchorage about adding sexual discrimination to a city ordinance. All the loonies came out against it and you have to check out the first picture on this link. It is a local talk radio jerk and he is proudly wearing a tee shirt expressing his beliefs (one of which is not spelled correctly). This is a guy who pals around with Sarah Palin.

Oh my. How funny. How long did that take you? I've come to the realization that although my political leanings are decidedly progressive, I want nothing to do with the progressive blogosphere--there's just as much bile and vitriol spewed here as on Republican blogs. The guy was in love, he entered into a loveless marriage, and he'll probably resign. But then, even if he did, you still would not be satisfied. Tell me, when will you be satisfied?
There's always Free Republic or Town Hall if our discourse does not please you. There is a caveat; if you think this site is full of bile and vitriol, well you're going to be surprised(and not in a good way) when you see those sites.

To much information....How humiliating.... From the likes of the letters, he will resign, settle his affairs here, then off to Argentina to be with a woman he has clearly fallen in love with...His career as Governor looks bleak. He created his own drama and even though I don't care for his policies, and self righteousness attitude, he appeared more human today. He doesn't come off as a fighter at all....
