Sarah Palin is the most popular figure in the GOP, according to a Pew Research Center poll released on Wednesday.

The poll surveyed leading GOP politicians' favorability among both Republicans and the general public. Palin took the lead in terms of popularity within the party, with 73% of Republicans giving her a favorable rating.

Among the general public, however, Palin was found to be a particularly polarizing figure. The Alaska governor's rating among all voters was split nearly in half: 45% favorable versus 44% unfavorable.

According to the poll, Mitt Romney is the second-most popular GOP figure. He received a 57% favorability rating among Republicans and among the general public, a 40% rating. Overall, Romney's ratings are an improvement over last year on nearly every front, meaning he's gotten more popular since his presidential bid ended.

The other GOP figures in the survey did not fare as well as Palin and Romney. Newt Gingrich had a 55% favorability rating among Republicans and a 22% unfavorable rating. Michael Steele, meanwhile, had only a 28% favorability rating. A full 58% of Republicans said they do not know enough about the RNC chairman to register an opinion.

Underestimate this woman at your own peril, America. I've seen this pattern emerge before. She is a shallow vessel who has shown herself capable of regurgitating talking points ad naseum. She has no depth of character, but can spew nonsense (word salad anyone?) with the best of them. The GOP sees her as the next GWB! She will get on stage and say her lines and have nary a clue about the depth of meaning. Unfortunately, history has shown us that this "type" plays well in middle 'Merica, and they turn out to vote when they think they've found someone who upholds their "values". W in a skirt, she may be, but she can attract enough votes to make things interesting. Don't believe me? Ask Frank Murkowski or Andrew Halcro. Just sayin...

Agreed! When the next country asks us "How could _____million Americans get it so wrong?", let's make sure they are talking about American Idol and not another election result, a la 2004.

How in the world did they scrape together enough people who would admit to being members of the Republican party? Suddenly we can't find any in kentucky.

How bout Palin/Cheney 2012? A competition for the lowest approval numbers!

Hurray! More Palin pity parties over the next few years versus Romney's magic underwear. Can't wait.

I have brainwashed neo-con friend who listens to Beck and watches O’Really and O’sanity every night what she thought of Palin. She said that she admired her for her governorship and she thought the media tore her apart. We asked if she was Presidential material? No, she didn’t think so.

Phew, huge relief. The message is clear. She doesn’t appeal even to the most brainwashed neo-con in my family.

It took me about a week last fall when McCain announced Palin as his running mate to actually sit back and say, I don’t want her to shut up. I want her to continue to run her mouth…she’ll be one of the many reasons why Obama wins the election. McCain picking her was the key to losing the election.

I do hope she runs in 2012. I want to see Obama win another landslide victory against those anti-American neo-cons.

Sarah is a superstar, a cult figure, a pop idol, a heart-throb. She is qualified to lead one-half of this great country.

Cult figure YES, superstar NO, heart throb (a little south of the heart) maybe. Qualified to lead half of this great country NO, she isn't qualified to lead her family or her state how is she going to lead the right wing hate and fear spewing nut jobs of the republican party? She can fire them up get them waving their guns yelling down with the USA but that's about it.

I'm hoping you are trying to be satirical because you are almost as funny as she is. Oops. She doesn't intend to be, but is. Do you not intend to be, but are?

I think the only reason there are Palin supporters is for yes, their laugh for the day also. In entertainment, before the "real show begins" there's usually a warm-up act or comedian. So Palin is the "warm-up act" for President Obama. After listening to Palin for a few minutes, who wouldn't be ready for some intelligent speeches. I belive same goes for Romney. He is boring! At least Sarah Palin is funny!

All that media exposure form 2008 must help. She probably is considering a 2012 run, and why not?

Why would media exposure casting a spotlight on her inane ideas, paucity of policy, ignorance of world affairs and g*d-awful governance do her any good? It won't if she runs on the national stage. Her own words on YouTube will sink her like a stone.

Uuhhhhhh... Ohhhhh...? Maybe they need to take a new Poll. The results may change.

New Story just coming out of Alaska tonight. THREE MORE ethics complaints coming....
----------------------------------------------------------
Quotes by ' Alaska Report'
"Three more ethics complaints against Palin in the works
AlaskaReport has learned that at least 3 more ethics complaints will be filed against Sarah Palin in the near future. Of course her cronies at the Personnel Board will probably sweep them under the rug - but at least the crimes will have a light shined upon them before they do... Also - A long simmering embezzelment/IRS scandal is still being looked at by the feds. Stay tuned..."

I.R.S...?? What happened to those ' pesky bloggers ' she is always whining about...?

Ok, you all need to check this link. Palin is definitely linked with this guy. Check out his tee shirt and how proudly he wears it. Nuff said.....just take a look. This woman is very dangerous and is supported by the likes of #1 and #2 of this link.

You should read the whole link and then dig a bit deeper as to what is going on in Anchorage. It is very sad.
