In an interview with CNBC this week, legendary investor Warren Buffett offered a rather grim assessment of the economy. In other words, forget all the recent talk of an emerging recovery.
Buffett put it this way: "We've had no bounce." And what about those ballyhooed green shoots? Buffett certainly hasn't seen any: "I had a cataract operation on my left eye I, and I thought I'd be able to see them...We're not seeing them."
Buffett also addressed Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, who has recently been the subject of a host of rumors about his reappointment. Calling Bernanke's performance at the Fed "fabulous," Buffett added, "I don't see how you could do any better [than Bernanke]."
