Most people don't care. They are too busy trying to grasp an American dream that doesn't exist any more and frankly, their in denial. They really think that if they keep their heads down and work and not rock the boat that things will work in their favor. Most importantly, people are selfish. In their pursuit of money, their views become so narrow that rationality an logic cease to exist.

A lot of people simply do not have the time to stay informed and read blogs, newspapers, watch the news and that's exactly how the gov. wants it.

I MISSED IT, I TRIED AND TRIED BUT STIL MISSED THE WHOLE DARN SHOW,
I REALLY DO NTO WATCH ABC recently looked at their line up on their website.
And I remembered why. All reality TV stuff,
Stopped watching dummy TV with jerry Springer.
No wonder I did not catch it, thought it came on at 9 it came on at 10 and they did it on a wed.
Not even sure what I was watching at the time so mad I missed it,
I want a replay but doubt if it will even be on their site

I have a great idea how we could afford a public healthcare plan: Take FEMA out of the hurricane-relief business. The only ones who would be affected are Republicans, and they're always saying, "The government shouldn't be giving money to people who don't deserve it."

Obama should be glad no one watched this. Had the rating been big, his support for Obamacare would have dropped 25%. Did someone forget the teleprompter last night?

Actually, I've had three people that are registered Republicans tell me that they were impressed with the way the President answered the questions.

All three were turned off with the way ABC set up the town hall and the lack of "real town" questions that people care about. ABC's bias in favor of their biggest advertisers -- the insurance and drug industry -- was obvious. Remember - this came from Republicans that watched! LOL!

Where you live has somthing to do with how you regester. It's just smarter to go with the majority. I never vote with the party I'm registered with.

A: They took his teleprompter away.

Charlie Gibson is so rude and needs to be taught a lesson.

I couldn't watch the entire hour, between Charles and Diane's endless interruptions, the non stop commercial and everyday people concerns being ignored, I'm surprised as many as 4 mil stayed tuned to the program.

NBC-WH special was much, much better and the ratings support the difference.

Watched the program and the Nightline continuation. Thought Obama was articulate and understood what Americans are facing. Diane Sawyer was good go between with the audience. On the other hand, Charlie Gibson was antagonistic and, once again, a lousy moderator. Why doesn't Charlie just move to FOX where he can completely be himself.

The problem is you guys have problems with real and balanced journalism. Don't ask tough questions of Obama. Ask him about his new puppy. Or what his kids eat for dinner. I wanna see him shoot some more basketballs.... That's the good stuff.

The discussions over health care are already changing employer health care insurance plans. My employers plan, starting next year, will cover all preventive care 100%. Basic vision, basic dental. Anything over that, $650 deductible per person, after that, all is covered. Health care accounts so that you can save the deductibles. More MD's in network, no restrictions from seeing specialists.

But will your health insurance company go belly up by the end of 2010 due to all the additional money they'll have to pay out without collecting enough in premiums to cover the difference? THAT is the question.....

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:04 AM on 06/26/2009

Trust me - NO INSURANCE company is going belly up. They are so well protected you'd be stunned. They don't any sympathy!!!!

O'Reilly gets viewers for the same reason car accidents do. Just read in today's paper that the train wreck in Illinois, and resulting fire had so many people there, the fire dept. asked them to please GO HOME. It was dangerous and more cars could have caught fire, yet people still stood around to watch. THAT is a metaphor for O'Reilly's shout fest.

It is so absurd that anyone concerns themselves with ratings on such an important issue. Healthcare reform is critical to our future. People should not have to count on their luck in their employment to enjoy basic healthcare. Some lucky people are offered premium healthcare plans and others none at all from their employers. At some point employers will discontinue offering healthcare insurance at all as a benefit of employment. It used to be that employers offered several insurers and paid the full premium for the employee (and they paid for their family members). Now we have, typically, a single insurer and the employee not only pays for his family but a larger and larger percentage of his own premium (not to mention higher deductibles and co-pays). The insurer also routinely denies care to the insureds at will. We have to do something about the way we handle healthcare in this Nation. Anyone with a better idea is sure welcome to step up the plate. All of the ha.te spewing and name calling at the President is not going to change one thing in our healthcare crisis. I would like to see health insurance severed from employment entirely. Employers can offer health insurance premium bonuses as a benefit in lieu of direct insurance. In this scenario, people could take their money and buy insurance from any private or public company at will thereby forcing the insurance companies to be truly competitve for your premium dollars.

Employers with more than 24 employees are required by law to offer a government privledged HMO to thier employees. The idea that health care benefits will just quit bieng offered isn't true. What really needs to happen is repeal of the HMO act. It is a failure, it is time for the government to admit so, repeal it and apoligize.

QUOTE: "I would like to see health insurance severed from employment entirely."

AMEN! There's long tradition for it. People are used to it and go along without questioning. But WHY in the world should one's employer have anything to do with one's health care? On-the-job-accidents, yes. Other health care, NO!

Are employers involved in health care in any other country we like to compare ourselves to?

Yeah, we need reform now. I wanna wait 30 days for an angioplasty surgery. I wanna wait 3 months for a cancer screening x-ray. I want my doctor to make 75k a year. That way I'll know I have the best qualified person for the job. Government run VA hospital care for everyone!! WEEEEEEE!! It's FREEEEEEEEE!!

the issue is right now you don't get that treatment cause it is earnings season for the insurer,
ever ahd a claim denied in a time of need.
and in comparing ourselves to other countries, we are loosing on many levels from education to healthcare, we are not number 1 in anything but debt probably.
and we are 37 th in health, oh wait, we are number 1 at being fat.
yes most obese, and prob #3 in over medicated. category
third world here we come
so maybe you are right lets leave all our future to the same for profit entities that brought to these towering hieghts of health and well being
