Inglis

Wall Street Journal:

South Carolina Rep. Bob Inglis made a name for himself in the late 1990s as one of Bill Clinton's most zealous pursuers, an impeachment "manager" who attacked the moral failings of the president with a gusto that earned him a devoted following in the staunchly conservative "Upstate" of conservative South Carolina.

But with his governor now felled by similar temptations, Inglis sees an opening for the Republican Party, a chance to "lose the stinking rot of self-righteousness" and "to understand we are all in need of some grace."

This is the way they want to spin things -- because the holier-than-thou attitude only works if you don't do the things you are so outraged by on the other side!

They are only worried that their "christian" base will figure out that they don't believe anything that has to do with the B ible!

We all need grace, but if I were Sanford's wife, I would be hard-pressed to find any at the moment.

What with our governors and almost all Congressmen these days? Republicans or Democrats, why can't they keep their privates in their pants! The former New York Governor is caught with a hooker. The current New York Governor has admitted to having affairs. The South Caroline Governor is now caught cheating on his wife. Needless to say, Clinton and Edwards couldn't control themselves. Any let's not go into the politicians who have been chasing boys and men! Is this really the best leaders we can find?
How sad.

And folks said that gays marrying was a threat to the institution of marriage. I'm not too worried about the gay couple down the street interfering in my marriage. It's that heterosexual couple with the guy who can't keep his privates in his own pants that's the biggest threat.

Monogamy is no more or less moral than any other relationship arrangement two or more consenting adults may pursue.

Republicans can do what they will with their privates. I don't care. But their double standards, hypocrisy and religiousity (e.g. DOMA, DADT) drive me up the wall.

Hmmmm, now he finds "grace" when all his fellow Republicans are reeling in the stink. I wonder what he's hiding?

Double HYPOCRITE, trying to pretend to be what he is not, nor truly believes, by making statements with which he hopes to persuade his "new" convictions to the populace for his own self serving benefit.

Yeah, it's contagious
http://www.americablog.com/2009/06/obama-justice-department-defends-doma.html

"A smart Senate and House leader would immediately bring up for a vote the repeal of DOMA while the Republicans are reeling from their second (adultery) eruption in a week.

Let the Republicans start talking about the protection of traditional marriage. Just let them. If anything, the DOMA repeal FORCES the entire country to keep talking about the ongoing GOP sex scandals."

Yeah... "lose the stinking rot of self-righteousness".

Get lost.

Do it now, while we're still watching.

What an arrogant, self-righteous ass***! The problem with the entire lot of them, is they love to tell others how to live their lives, yet continue to live the arrogant, bigoted, hateful, hypocritical lives of greed, lust and vanity. "judge not, lest ye be judged..." I think that's what the Bible said.

Could he be anymore transparent? "Let's be forgiving and not self-righteous so that we can save one of our own. Then we'll sit back and pray for a Democrat to stray from our stringent moral high road, and we will pounce like hungry tigers." Yeah, right. Sorry, buddy, sell your snake oil somewhere else.

The party of "values" is nothing of the sort. They sit upon a pillar of self- righteousness made of delusions of grandeur. There, perched on high, they pontificate to the proletariat what the deem to be acceptible behavior. "Do as I say, not as I do" is their mantra. They worship not Power from on High, but the political & capital power that they wield. They would have you belive that their power is due to the perogative of the Almighty, and are therefore endowed with supernatural authority to dictate the goings-on in the world of "commoners". These qualities, coupled with a lack of empathy for others, or "the 'other'" is narcissism. This is a personality disorder. People who exibit these traits are mentally challenged, and the damage they cause can be great, even though their numbers are relatively low. We must use the tools available to us within the rule of law. We must organize to rid ourselves of the obstructionists that pretend to serve us, while lining their pockets doing otherwise. The civillians in Iraq are doing today what we should have done in 2000, & '04. The government should fear the people, not the other way around. It is time that elected officials should pay the political consequences for their "actions", or lack thereof. Single-payer is the way to go!

Just phoned Kerry's office - it takes dozens of rings to get an answer - and the staffer there told me "Senator Kerry IS a strong supporter of a public health care option."

Hello?

Why do these people think this talking out both sides of their mouths even works any more? It's an insult not just to our intelligence but to all the time and money we spend getting these guys elected.

I hated Kerry when he rolled over in Ohio - I worked to get out the vote there and I hated how he just bailed on all that obvious voter fraud that we on the ground saw there. I hate him now for even blithering about ten years from now.

WE NEED A PUBLIC HEALTH CARE OPTION NOW, NOT TEN YEARS FROM NOW.
