Bush Administration Tipped Off Corrupt GOP Rep. To Wiretap: Officials

In the fall of 2006, one day after the Justice Department granted permission to a U.S. attorney to place a wiretap on a Republican congressman suspected of corruption, existence of the investigation was leaked to the press -- not only compromising the sensitive criminal probe but tipping the lawmaker off to the wiretap.

Career federal law enforcement officials who worked directly on a probe of former Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.) said they believe that word of the investigation was leaked by senior Bush administration political appointees in the Justice Department in an improper and perhaps illegal effort to affect the outcome of an election.

When this came out in 2006 there articles written about it but unfortunately with the Bush administration stocking the Justice Department with Cronies and the media refusing to ask the Bush admin any real questions there was nothing that could be done. This is just another in the long history of the Bush admin that right wingers dont know about because they get their information from faux news and the likes of Rush. Right wingers should understand that when the Justice Department becomes a tool for the party in power, America becomes a third world country one step above Somalia. When the telco companies agreed to secretly build the apparatus to spy on the American people at the request of the Bush admin, do you really think they were doing it to be patriotic? In other words, large private companies were aaked to break the law at the request of the govt so it could spy one their own citizens in return for favors. Nothing third worldish about that is there? The Justice Department became "Corrupt" when bush and cheney took control in 2000. Bush made sure to put all of his "Crony's in the top positions to control the message. Bush did the same thing at the Interior Department, and a few of the crony's there are serving some time but not enough. Nothing about the Dictator bush and his regime comes as any surprise.

The only surprise is the "Dictator, the Regime, the Republicans in the congress and some Democrats now serve and protect Corporate america, and pretty much threw the American people in the "Garbage Dumps of America. We have a group of "Jackals" in the pockets of Corporatist.
