White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel danced (he was a ballet dancer, you know) around a reporter's question at breakfast this morning of whether Barack Obama wants Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan to run for the president's Senate seat.

I don’t think that they’re telling us the truth about Madigan’s popularity. She’s the daughter of thoroughly hated anti-reform Speaker Madigan, and she’s intentionally not prosecuted any instances of government corruption in Illinois while A.G. Yet everyone acknowledges that Illinois is the most corrupt state, and that significant reform needs to take place…? But how can anyone expect reform when our A.G. allows every elected official to steal public money and break the campaign finance laws without recourse…?

Well, reading the comments leads me to believe that Madigan would be good for Illinois and the Senate - and, as a result, the nation.

Why? 'Cuz the righties hate her.

My observation - gathered over decades - is that anything that the righties want will be bad for the American people, while anything that the righties hate will be good for the American people.

See? The little buggers do have some usefulness.
